Re-live updates after Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung squared off in a featherweight main event
Max Holloway produced a stunning knockout of Chan Sung Jung at UFC Singapore on Saturday, before the “Korean Zombie” retired from mixed martial arts.
Former champion Holloway got the better of the 36-year-old across the first two rounds of the featherweight main event, nearly securing a D’Arce choke in the second frame. However, Sung Jung had his moments, wobbling the Hawaiian more than once.
A frenzied striking exchange at the start of the third round promised disaster for one of the two men, and it was Sung Jung who hit the mat face-first when Holloway landed a clean overhand right.
There were rumours that this clash with Holloway, 31, might be Sung Jung’s last fight, and that proved to be the case, with the South Korean removing his gloves after the bout, kneeling on the canvas, and bowing his head in a tearful goodbye to MMA. Caceres lands a body kick now, before Chikadze slips to avoid a head kick.
Caceres definitely looks the looser fighter right now, in a good way. He’s smiling his way through this second round.
Chikadze hasn’t thrown much in this frame. Finally he lets go and throws a jab and a one-two.
Now he’s starting to land more! He’s found his range. But Caceres looks to arrest the momentum, and he fires back with his own flurry. He burrows an uppercut into the ribs of the Georgian.

Georgia’s Chikadze stands orthodox; American Caceres is southpaw.
Caceres eats a hard body kick while throwing a hook up top. Now he closes range well with a one-two, though.
Another one-two lands for the American. Chikadze circles away. He can’t set his feet due to the pressure from Caceres, who lands a clean spinning back fist!
Caceres just about blocks a head kick now. Chikadze with a stiff right cross.
Chikadze misses with his own spinning effort now, but he’s finally on the front foot. He tags Caceres with a body kick again.

Nakamura works on an arm-triangle choke, but he’s on the wrong side of Garcia.
He’s eventually able to take the back, but Garcia is fighting one arm. Nakamura starts throwing punches in a bid to distract Garcia, and then he changes tack and throws up an armbar out of nowhere!
It appears to be in deep, but Garcia is able to roll free! He even stands, but he eats a clean head kick in the final seconds of the fight!

Garcia’s coach tries to get him fired up ahead of this final round. He looks a bit despondent...
Here we go. He almost lands a decent right hook over the top of a Nakamura leg kick.
Both man throw teasing head kicks, before Nakamura drives for a double-leg takedown, which he secures.

Nakamura shoots for a takedown but is caught in a guillotine!
He stays composed and is able to twist free, and he’s in north-south again.
Nakamura is fully in control, trying to isolate one of Garcia’s arms, but Garcia shows good spirit to make it to the end of the round.

Garcia blocks a head kick, but the impact is SO loud! He just about tags Nakamura with a counter hook in response.
Now Garcia with a hard body kick, and a decent left hook. Now a low kick. He’s circling, trying to avoid being backed up to the fence.
Harsh leg kick by Nakamura, good body kick by Garcia.
