Holloway vs Korean Zombie LIVE: UFC Singapore results today
Re-live updates after Max Holloway and Chan Sung Jung squared off in a featherweight main event
Max Holloway produced a stunning knockout of Chan Sung Jung at UFC Singapore on Saturday, before the “Korean Zombie” retired from mixed martial arts.
Former champion Holloway got the better of the 36-year-old across the first two rounds of the featherweight main event, nearly securing a D’Arce choke in the second frame. However, Sung Jung had his moments, wobbling the Hawaiian more than once.
A frenzied striking exchange at the start of the third round promised disaster for one of the two men, and it was Sung Jung who hit the mat face-first when Holloway landed a clean overhand right.
There were rumours that this clash with Holloway, 31, might be Sung Jung’s last fight, and that proved to be the case, with the South Korean removing his gloves after the bout, kneeling on the canvas, and bowing his head in a tearful goodbye to MMA. Nakamura moves into half-guard and briefly tries for a crucifix position. Garcia is able to free one of his arms, and Nakamura transitions into north-south.
He moves back into side control – on the other side, I believe – and then briefly takes the back late in the round! He’s able to fire off a few punches there.

Brutal body kick from Nakamura, who’s pressing forward early.
Nakamura was actually an Olympic wrestling hopeful for Japan, and here’s his first takedown attempt!
He shoots low, against the fence, then wraps up the legs of Garcia. The American does well to get his legs free and stand, but he’s taken down again!
Nakamura lands in his guard.

Erin Blanchfield def. Taila Santos via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

She had to work hard for it, but Blanchfield secured another big win at flyweight!

Santos is able to prevent the takedown, though she nearly exposes her neck to a guillotine in a scramble.
There’s a brief striking exchange, before Blanchfield gets back to doing what’s helped her most in this fight: grappling on the fence.
More impressive defence by Santos, but she’s being outworked, and that is on course to cost her here...
One more striking exchange ensues, and it’s actually Blanchfield who lands the biggest shot of the fight so far, before trying for a guillotine in the final seconds!

Round 3
We’re likely tied at one round apiece as we enter the final frame.
Santos just about blocks a head kick then almost lands a hook as she moves backwards.
Again Blanchfield gets a body lock, but Santos is able to free herself and land an elbow off the break. Now a clean hook by the Brazilian, who then kicks low and hard.
Blanchfield grabs another body lock and drives Santos to the fence yet again. She’s working on a takedown, but Santos’s defence is still on point.

Blanchfield finally gets the takedown! She lands straight in Santos’s guard.
Santos looks to angle off, seemingly seeking an armbar...
She’s unable to get it, and Blanchfield moves to half-guard. Now she passes and takes the back...
But Santos shows more good defence! She’s able to stand against the fence.

Santos presses forward early. Great work from her to sink in underhooks as Blanchfield shoots for a takedown.
Blanchfield soon tries again, after backing up Santos to the fence, but the Brazilian sprawls well.
Blanchfield gets a body lock, but Santos is using overhooks to neutralise the American’s progress.
Both women land knees to the body.

Round 1
Santos looks the sharper fighter so far. She lands a couple of solid knees in the clinch, then a one-two up top after the flyweights separate.
Blanchfield avoids a high kick, but she then drops to a knee as her other leg is kicked out from under her!
Blanchfield’s nose is already busted up. Both fighters land grazing hooks. Now Blanchfield backs up Santos to the fence and lands a flurry of straight punches, before securing underhooks and then a body lock.
Blanchfield eventually opts to step away, but she lands more strikes as she does. Now Santos fires back with some more hard knees, before the American takes her down!
Santos does well to spring back to her feet, however. Lots of activity from both women. A right hook lands clean for Santos.
The round ends with the fighters grappling against the fence.
