Your support makes all the difference.Fulham are taking on Aston Villa this evening at Craven Cottage as Scott Parker’s newly promoted side search for their first points of the season.
Fulham struggled against Arsenal on the opening day but were much improved against Leeds, eventually going down 4-3. But they will need to tighten up defensively, having already shipped seven goals and looking highly susceptible at the back, something which proved their undoing in the Premier League two years ago.
Villa got off to the perfect start beating Sheffield United and will be eager to continue that momentum in what could well be a battle between two relegation fighters come the end of the season. Follow all the action below:
49 min
Arsenal have started the second half with a bit more attacking intent. A long ball up to Aubameyang almost sets the forward clear on goal, but he’s forced to stop and find Maitland-Niles, whose wayward shot is blocked by a Liverpool player.
49 min
Alexander-Arnold goes into a challenge late on Tierney and picks up a booking.
47 min
Arsenal are caught with players forward and Keita clips a ball through to Mane on the left. He has space to run into, and goes early with a left-footed shot which whistles over the bar.
Half time
The first half comes to a close. Liverpool have been dominant, outplaying and almost overwhelming an in-form Arsenal team. Even after going behind, the champions were undeterred. They’re looking ominous early in the season and should have too much for their visitors here.
45+1 min
There’ll be two minutes of added time. Arteta will want to get his players in and regroup.
42 min
Maitland-Niles suddenly finds himself in behind the Liverpool defence, latching onto a Luiz pass. But he miscontrols and the ball runs through to Alisson. He may have been offside, though it’ll be encouraging for Arsenal to see players breaking past Liverpool’s very high line.
41 min
Firmino very nearly chests a long pass deftly into the path of Salah, but Leno rushes out to claim the loose ball.
