Garner gets the second half under way for Everton at Goodison Park!
Everton vs Crystal Palace
Both Everton and Palace have plenty of attacking options on the bench, and it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see some early changes when the second half gets under way. The Toffees could call upon Dobbin or Harrison to provide something different on the wing, with Young and McNeil struggling to make an impact on the game. The Eagles may turn to the likes of Franca or Ahamada to add a little flair in the final third. Will we see some goals after the break?
Everton vs Crystal Palace
Everton and Palace go into the break at 0-0. It's been a game of minimal chances from either side at Goodison Park, with a real lack of attacking quality on show. There have been just two shots on target for both teams combined, with neither team creating more than 0.39 expected goals (xG). The Toffees have enjoyed slightly more of the possession, but Dyche will be demanding a lot more from his players when they get into the final third. The lack of goals in the first half might not be a surprise to regular watches of Palace and Everton, as they have been goalless at half-time 12 and 10 times respectively in the Premier League this season, more than any other side.
Everton vs Crystal Palace
The fourth official has indicated that there will be a minimum of one minute of added time at the end of the first half.
Everton vs Crystal Palace
Goodison Park is growing frustrated as Everton have an ideal opportunity to counter-attack, but McNeil opts to turn back towards his own goal and keep possession. The Toffees need to take some more risks as they approach the final third. It wouldn't be a surprise to see either manager make a change early in the second half.
Everton vs Crystal Palace
It's become a scrappy game as we head towards half-time, with neither side able to keep hold of possession for too long, gifting it back to the opposition. Both teams need to show a little more control in midfield if they want to secure a positive result in this match.
Everton vs Crystal Palace
Off the line! Palace are pushing now. Another corner comes into the Everton penalty area and Mateta climbs highest to win the header. It's flying towards the bottom corner and Pickford might not get there, but Young is there to hack the ball away on the line. The Toffees get away with one!
Everton vs Crystal Palace
McNeil goes down under the challenge of Wharton but the referee waves play on. Palace can now break away and Edouard drives down the left-hand side and into the penalty area, and Tarkowski gives away a corner. Wharton will deliver and takes aim towards the front post, but Calvert-Lewin clears. The ball comes back into the box and Richards heads towards goal, but Tarkowski puts it behind once again.
Everton vs Crystal Palace
Big chance for Palace! Ayew turns just outside the Everton penalty area and the Eagles have an overload on the right-hand side. He fires a pass out wide to Munoz who plays it first-time into Lerma just inside the box, but he snatches at his shot with his weak foot and it flies over the bar. A bit of composure there and he could have scored!
