Monday night sees a battle at the bottom as Everton host Crystal Palace with both teams desperate for points and the visitors having had a dramatic afternoon - first with Roy Hodgson resigning, following illness, and then Oliver Glasner being appointed as new manager - though he won’t be in the dugout.

There's an alteration in the middle of the park for the Toffees, with Gueye making his way to the bench. Onana enters the fray.

What a chance for Everton! A corner comes into the box from Garner and Tarkowski meets it with his head, but Johnstone makes a superb stop! It falls to Gueye on the edge of the area and he strikes it towards goal. It finds Doucoure at the back post who helps it on, but it's cleared off the line with Godfrey flying in! The Toffees are pushing!

Close for Everton! Garner wins a free-kick and the Toffees flood the penalty area. It's delivered into the box and headed away, but only as far as Mykolenko who attempts an ambitious volley. It's flying towards goal, but Palace fling plenty of bodies in front of the shot and are able to make the block.

Edouard should do better! Palace have a corner and it's floated into the penalty area. Andersen leaps above the Everton defence and heads towards goal. It falls to Edouard from inside the six-yard box, but he gets his acrobatic effort all wrong and the ball goes flying into the stands. The Toffees will have a goal-kick.

Chance for Palace now! Mateta wins the ball off Tarkowski and Mitchell has made a bursting run down the left-hand side and into the box. Mateta finds him and he only has Pickford to beat, but the Everton goalkeeper rushes off his line to close the angle and makes a smart stop. The Eagles might feel that was a good opportunity to take the lead.

Chance for Everton! Mykolenko finds Calvert-Lewin with a superb pass between the lines, and the English striker turns and carries the ball down the line. He flicks the ball into the feet of Young who spots McNeil just outside the box. He shifts it to Garner on the edge of the box and he takes aim towards goal, but his strike flies over the bar.

Tarkowski fires a ball into the feet of Calvert-Lewin who is brought down by Andersen and Everton win a free-kick. They take it quickly and McNeil receives the ball out wide before delivering into the penalty area, but Mitchell is there and Palace are able to clear the danger comfortably.

Mateta goes down inside the penalty area after a challenge from Branthwaite, but the referee waves play on. The travelling Palace supporters aren't happy, with the official isn't having any of it and the game continues.

Young upends Mitchell on the left-hand side and Palace can now fill the penalty area from a free-kick. Wharton is standing over it and he delivers into the box, sending a searching ball to the back post. However, the referee has spotted a foul on Tarkowski and Everton are awarded a free-kick.
