*Andy Murray 6-3 3-1 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): Andy faults on his first serve and a miss-hit backhand, following a fast-paced rally, gives Novak the first point. He returns the favour, netting on the second. An ace follows. 30-15. From here, the two go toe-to-toe in a breathless rally that brings out the best of the two players. Baseline shots, drop shots, junk balls, the lot. Murray is eventually pushed to his left, as he lunges to meet a crosscourt ball from Djokovic and although he manages to return, the ball soars upwards into dangerous territory. The Serb is on hand to meet it but quite incredibly his overhead smash finds the net. 40-15. Another ace seals it and the game is his.
Andy Murray 6-3 4-1 Novak Djokovic* (*denotes server): This is turning into quite the spectacle as Murray rushes to three break points, yes three! The final shot to make it 40-0 was simply stunning. At the tightest of angles, the Scot snapped at the ball with a menacing backhand to send the ball zipping across the court and out of reach of a static Djokovic. He may have found the net in the next point but at 40-15 there was no way he was going to let this game slide. A forehand winner settles it to hand him the game. Yet again he breaks his old foe.
*Andy Murray 6-3 4-2 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): A long-looping shot to the left-hand lands wide of the tramline and Murray is unsuccessful in his challenge. He hits back and to fire another baseline effort out of Djokovic's reach. He's now won 35 baseline points, compared to the Serb's 17. His opponent fails to return a Murray serve to make it 30-15 but an unforced error offers Novak a margin of hope. He digs deep, remaining defiant as ever, and forces two mistakes to break back. This match is far from finished.
Andy Murray 6-3 4-3 Novak Djokovic* (*denotes server): The Serb's first serve is phenomenal, giving Murray little hope of returning. His confidence continues to peak as he takes the next three points with relative ease and the game. Had Murray challenged the third point, however, he would have seen that his forehand return was in fact in. That's the second time he's missed such an opportunity. Nonetheless, what a game this is shaping up to be.
*Andy Murray 6-3 5-3 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): The Scot holds his nerve to take the game 40-15, with a combination of powerful serving and resilience seeing him through. That was much needed after Djokovic's mid-set resurgence.
Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic* (*denotes server): Murray had the opportunity to take the match in that game but Djokovic was having absolutely none of it. Moving to 30-0, Murray was offered a brief moment of hope as he landed an impressive forehand winner down the tramline but the Serb stepped up his efforts with two big serves that his opponent simply couldn't return.
*Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): This is it. Murray serves for the title...
*Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): He faults on his first serve but holds his nerve to land his second attempt. Djokovic returns but Murray snaps back with a vicious forehand shot that the Serb woefully misshits to send far beyond the base line. His third ace of the game takes it to 30-0. He's in control but a lax backhand effort on the left finds the net. It's a similar story moments later as he rushes to the right and whips the ball into the net. 30-30...
*Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): 40-30! With Murray committed to the net, Djokovic seized his opportunity for the lob shot but completely miss-hit as it sailed high and wide of the court. So close now...
*Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): Djokovic isn't done yet though as he sends an authoritative forehand shot in between Murray and the tramline. Deuce. Murray responds well and sends down his next serve at 130mph. It's too much for the Serb. Advantage.
