*Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): With his back up against the wall, Novak is fighting tooth and nail as he dictates play from the centre of the court. He's got Murray running from one side of the court and eventually seizes the opportunity to punish the world No 1. Deuce again.

*Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): This is pulsating stuff as the game goes to a third championship with an unforced error letting Djokovic down...

*Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic (*denotes server): He's done it! Murray wins! After faulting his first serve, Murray makes service with his second and it doesn't take long before the Scot is in control. He bombards his opponent with a series of baseline shots before the Serb cracks and sends his own base effort wide of Murray's left-hand side tramline. The title is his! Incredible stuff.

Final score: Andy Murray 6-3 5-4 Novak Djokovic

It ended in dramatic fashion, as these things always do, but Murray held on to see out a tense final game to claim the second set and seal the deal. A mid-game resurgence from Djokovic offered the Serbian hope after being broken twice early on in the set, but Murray's resilience and grit saw him through.

Up comes Andy Murray to receive his trophy amid an explosion of blue confetti and music. Alongside the trophy, he's handed a sizeable bottle of champagne which he'll no doubt enjoy later on with his team.

Murray has his say: "Obviously it's a very special day playing against Novak in a game like this. It's been a tough rivalry, I've lost many but it's great to win today.

"I couldn't do it without them [his team], some of them have been around a long time. They've made a lot of sacrifices so thank you so much to them."

"Congratulations to Novak on everything he's achieved this year too."

All delivered in the Scot's dulcet tones, obviously. What else would you expect.
