From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. 10 mins: Sexton converts and Ireland lead 3-0!
It's not all good news for the Irish though as captain Rory Best is off injured, and Niall Scannell is on in his place.
12 mins: No advantage from a knock-on from Daly in the tackle, as Ireland were going backwards quickly, so we'll have a scrum about 5m outside the Irish 22.
14 mins: Turnover ball from the scrum! Stander loses control and England seize upon it. They go down the blindside, and Daly chips ahead, though the ball beats everyone as it rolls into touch on the 5m.
15 mins: Marmion clears after a strong maul from the Irish pack, and Daly does well to avoid the chasers and get England going forwards.
16 mins: Ireland give away a penalty for not rolling away in the ruck, and when Ford's high ball comes to nothing, referee Jerome Garces comes back for the offence. Farrell will go for goal, just outside the right upright from about 33m.
18 mins: Good news for Ireland though as Best returns, so it must have been an HIA for the skipper.
19 mins: Itoje comes storming through a ruck and steams over Marmion - only the scrum-half didn't have the ball. The England forward was a bit over-eager there, and he gives away a penalty as a result. Sexton's getting a bit of treatment here, and replays show it's because he's copped a bit of a late one from Itoje. He gets a telling off from the referee, and it looked a borderline call. It probably didn't help that he's just tried to poleaxe the other Irish half-back either...but he avoids a sin-binning.
21 mins: Sexton kicks to touch and the maul from the lineout is a strong one that stops about 10m out from the try line. It's incredibly slow ball though, and now Ireland move central through McGrath. Ringrose wriggles out of one tackle to make yards, before Stander takes Ireland inside a couple of metres. Vunipola is then penalised for going off his feet at the ruck, and England concede the penalty. Sexton turns down the kick though to go for touch! A big call...
