Your support makes all the difference.Shane Lowry captured the imagination of his Irish fans with a stunning victory to win The Open Championship and clinch his first major title.
The 32-year-old hails from Clara some 160 miles south of Royal Portrush across the border, and enjoyed a passionate and ferocious support from a partisan crowd who roared him home from start to finish amid one of the greatest atmospheres ever witnessed in Open history.
Only on the first hole did Lowry look in trouble as he began his round with a bogey, giving Tommy Fleetwood a sniff of a challenge, but from there on no one was able to get close to the Irishman and he eventually held off his English playing partner to claim a six-shot victory and spark wild celebrations on the 18th green.
Fleetwood clinched his joint-best finish in a major but rued what could have been after failing to take his chances early on, while Tony Finau rose through the leaderboard with a supreme par round of 71 in tdreadful conditions to take third place. Re-live the action below.

18th hole
Ashton Turner (+4) finishes his Open on a high, he birdies the last hole to card a 3-under par 68, the crowd really enjoyed it and gave him a loud cheer as the ball dropped. He's the first man to finish the tournament.
2nd hole
Two poor opening holes from Sergio Garcia (-1) he misses birdie on the first and leaves himself a long putt for birdie on the second. That putt he then leaves short and has a tricky putt to save par.
7th
Joost Luiten (-3) off the front edge of the green takes out the putter for his third shot, he gives it a fair welly and the ball bounces in and out of the hole to deny him an eagle.
1st hole
DJ (-2) opens his account with a par. Up next on the tee is Northern Ireland's only competitor to make the cut, Graeme McDowell. Expect the reception for G-Mac to but immense.
5th hole
The Big Easy Ernie Els (-1) cards his fifth consecutive par with his partner Lucas Bjerregaard (-1) going one better and getting under par again with a birdie.
10th hole
Francesco Molinari (evs) kisses the left edge of the hole for birdie in his attempt to go under par.
9th hole
Louis Oosthuizen (-1) gets a shot back on the last hole of the front nine. He goes out in 34, one under par for the day and the week.
1st hole
Tom Lewis (-2) gets a gentle round of applause as he takes an iron of the first tee and into the fairway.
The reception is quite a bit louder for Graeme McDowell (-2), born and bred of course in Portrush. It's an iron as well for G-Mac and the cheering continues as the ball finds the fairway.
18th hole
Happy Birthday, Shubhanker Sharma! He holes a 30-35 footer on the last hole for a birdie and a round of 68 to finish (+3) for the tournament.
8th hole
Pars for both Joost Luiten (-3) and Doc Redman (-3) keep them at 3-under for the day, Redman's par putt coming from around 15-20ft.
10th hole
Louis Oosthuizen (-2) rolls in his fourth birdie of the tenth, that's two in a row for Louis.
1st hole
Get in, G-Mac rolls in an 8 or 9 footer on the first for a birdie three. He onlookers enjoyed that one, McDowell moves to (-3).
4th hole
After a birdie on the second DJ is also at (-3), his drive on the fourth isn't the best though and he sends the ball into the bracken.
5th hole
Sergio (-1) mullers his drive off the tee and hits the downslope heading into the green, the ball shoots on, through the green and into the out of bounds markers. His third off the tee, goes slightly left and he'll have a tricky up and down for bogey.
7th hole
Ryan Fox (-1), the New Zealander who carded a 29 on the back nine on Thursday, stops his run of six pars with a birdie on the seventh.
12th hole
Molinari's (evs) second into the twelfth is a great one, it pitches up just short of the green and has the right pace to roll up to about 7-8 feet of the hole. That should be an eagle for Frankie.
9th hole
Luiten's front nine comes to a disappointing end with a bogey on nine. He goes out in 34, 2-under par for both round and tournament.
