Saracens completed a memorable European and domestic double after retaining the Premiership title by beating Exeter 37-34 at Twickenham.

The teams shared 10 tries during unquestionably the greatest Premiership final in its 16-year history. Exeter led after just 28 seconds when scrum-half Nic White claimed the quickest Premiership final touchdown, but Saracens ultimately prevailed with Jamie George's second score ultimately proving the difference.

Here's how it played out.

5 mins: With the man advantage, Farrell turns down the shot at goal and sends the ball to the five-metre line. Saracens secure the lineout and flood the maul with the backs, and within a heartbeat they drive over and it's Jamie George who pops up in celebration with the try. Farrell misses the conversion though from out wide, so Saracens hold the slender lead.

10 mins: Saracens win a penalty when Exeter go off their feet at the breakdown, and Farrell this time goes for foal successfully to put Saracens in front. 7-8

14 mins: It's another penalty against Exeter loosehead Moon and although this is in kicking range, Saracens opt for the scrum again. Have they picked up on a weakness?

15 mins: TRY FOR SARACENS!

Jack de Menezes1 June 2019 15:17

15 mins: Saracens have definitely taken control of this game as Vunipola charges away from the base of the scrum. The reigning champions bash the ball up through Lozowski and Koch, and when he spots Simmonds and Kvesic napping, Ben Spencer darts over next to the ruck to score. Farrell misses the conversion again, but Saracens have a slender lead. 7-13

18 mins: Again, Saracens fail to take the restart and it gives Exeter the chance to attack, They come left through Ewers who switches to O'Flaherty, and Williams then puts his head down and goes for the line...it's held up, but Saracens are offside and Simmonds puts the penalty into the corner.

19 mins: Exeter go for the one-out and drive - the type of rugby's that copped them so much slack this week - and when the ball is held up again, Wayne Barnes goes back to his pocket. This time it's Maro Itoje going to the sin-bin for offside after an accumulation of penaltoes, and with Slade on, Exeter have the man advantage. They go to the corner once again.

21 mins: TRY FOR EXETER!

Jack de Menezes1 June 2019 15:24

21 mins: Blimey, this is frantic! Exeter agin go for the driving maul at the lineout and Kruis does a good job of spoiling it, but he isn't able to get his hands on the ball. The Chiefs recycle, and flanker Dave Ewers finds a gap to burrow through and score.

Simmonds converts and Exeter have the lead back. 14-13

Jack de Menezes1 June 2019 15:26

26 mins: Goode does brilliantly to pick the ball up off his toes after Spencer sells him short, and the full-back kicks to touch with a low effort that goes out on the 22. Armand is down hurt though after tackling Vunipola, and he's going to have to go off for an HIA. Sam Skinner comes on in his place.
