From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The tee times for the final day at The Open have been moved forward by around an hour to avoid bad weather conditions, which are due to hit Northern Ireland's Royal Portrush course late in the evening.

The final group, which is currently set to be made up of Shane Lowry and Tommy Fleetwood as they lead the way on -13 and -12 respectively, will take to the course at 1:47pm on Sunday afternoon.

The tee-off is an hour earlier than last year's final round at Carnoustie, and two hours earlier than when Lowry and JB Holmes started their third round on Saturday.

"Sunday tee times have been moved forward due to the adverse weather forecast," tournament organisers the R&A tweeted.

"The first tee time will be at 7:32am with the leaders beginning their final round at 1:47pm."

It is the second time this year that the final round of a major has been affected by weather, following the early finish to The Masters last April when Tiger Woods secured his 15th career major victory.

On that occasion, heavy thunderstorms expected in the afternoon lead to organisers deciding on a two-tee start and threesomes instead of pairings, though players will remain in twos at The Open and it has been decided that there is enough time for all groups to tee off from the first hole as planned.

2nd hole

Two poor opening holes from Sergio Garcia (-1) he misses birdie on the first and leaves himself a long putt for birdie on the second. That putt he then leaves short and has a tricky putt to save par.

Joost Luiten (-3) off the front edge of the green takes out the putter for his third shot, he gives it a fair welly and the ball bounces in and out of the hole to deny him an eagle.

Michael Jones21 July 2019 11:22

1st hole

Tom Lewis (-2) gets a gentle round of applause as he takes an iron of the first tee and into the fairway.

The reception is quite a bit louder for Graeme McDowell (-2), born and bred of course in Portrush. It's an iron as well for G-Mac and the cheering continues as the ball finds the fairway.

Michael Jones21 July 2019 11:24

18th hole

Happy Birthday, Shubhanker Sharma! He holes a 30-35 footer on the last hole for a birdie and a round of 68 to finish (+3) for the tournament.

Michael Jones21 July 2019 11:26

Get in, G-Mac rolls in an 8 or 9 footer on the first for a birdie three. He onlookers enjoyed that one, McDowell moves to (-3).

4th hole

After a birdie on the second DJ is also at (-3), his drive on the fourth isn't the best though and he sends the ball into the bracken.

Michael Jones21 July 2019 11:36

5th hole

Sergio (-1) mullers his drive off the tee and hits the downslope heading into the green, the ball shoots on, through the green and into the out of bounds markers. His third off the tee, goes slightly left and he'll have a tricky up and down for bogey.

9th hole

Luiten's front nine comes to a disappointing end with a bogey on nine. He goes out in 34, 2-under par for both round and tournament.
