From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. WrestleMania 34 takes place in Sunday night to close out another frantic 12 months of WWE action on the Grandest Stage of them All in New Orleans.

The Mercedez Benz Superdome stages the 34th edition of WrestleMania, which sees a number of fascinating matches booked and the potential second departure of Brock Lesnar, plus a number of rumoured returns including that of the supposedly retired Undertaker.

But one of the biggest matches of the night could well be that of AJ Styles against Shinsuke Nakamura as the two fan-favourites go up against each other for the WWE Championship, while both women’s titles will be on the line as Charlotte Flair takes on Asuka for the Smackdown Championship and Alexa Bliss defends against Nia Jax for the Raw version.

But it’s the professional debut of Ronda Rousey – who teams up with Kurt Angle to face Triple H and Stephanie McMahon – that could well be the highlight as the former UFC champion makes her bow in the WWE.

Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

McMahon manages to get Zayn hung up on the ropes, and after Owen is sent flying out of the ring, McMahon senses an opportunity. Standing the other side of the ring, he goes to the top ropes and... he hits Coast to Coast! It comes at a cost as McMahon writhes in agony, and as he goes for the pin Owens lands on him. Owens quickly takes to the top turnbuckle and lands a devastating frogsplash, and that should be it...1...2...Bryan splits up the pin! He's back!

Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

McMahon makes the tag! Bryan enters the ring, the crowd go wild, and Zayn goes after him only to catch a flurry of right hands!

Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Bryan is flying - literally! He soars across the ring with a clothesline that nearly decapitates Zayn, and he follows that up with a flying knee to the head of Owens outside. A soaring kick leaves Zayn in the corner, and a suplex to Owens put him into the opposite corner to trigger a series of running kicks to the head, the last of which slaps of Zayn's head so loudly it's heard through the arena. The follows up with a Hurricanrana off the top rope and Bryan is running the show...only for Owens to grab him by the foot and allow Zayn to land the Hulluva kick!

He gets a two count, but makes the tag to Owens and he clears McMahon off the apron and hits Bryan with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. Surely that's it...no!

Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

McMahon manages to get Owens outside the ring and launches himself at KO to take them out of the equation. That leaves Bryan and Zayn together, and while Zayn berates Bryan for betraying him, they start trading slaps (?) before Bryan delivers his trademark Yes Kicks to Zayn's chest, each one drawing a louder YES from the fans.

Raw Women's Championship Match

This one's personal alright, with Alexa Bliss set to defend her title against former 'friend' Nia Jax, who is intent on destroying Bliss for her betrayal after attempting to bully her about the way she looks. Bliss makes her way to the ring first, with the surprise company of Mickie James that might just play a part in this match.

Here comes Nia, and boy does she look ready for business. You wouldn't want to be Bliss right now.

Raw Women's Championship Match

James isn't going to have much of a say in this as Nia has decided to try and rip her apart before the fight starts. A wise tactic, and Jax, finishes the assault with a Samoan Drop on the outside. Ouch. Turning her attentions to Bliss, the champion no longer looks so confident.

Raw Women's Championship Match

Jax grabs Bliss by the hair and Bliss responds by slapping her opponent, triggering a roar from Nia and a terrified scream from Bliss that cautious huge laughter in the Superdome. Jax them impressively lifts Bliss up an presses her above her shoulders before walking around the ring with Bliss airborne, tossing her to the floor, and when the champion tries to run away, Jax delivers a brutal clothesline to prevent her from leaving. A thumb to the eye turns the tables though, as Jax is temporarily blinded.
