From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

WrestleMania 34 takes place in Sunday night to close out another frantic 12 months of WWE action on the Grandest Stage of them All in New Orleans.

The Mercedez Benz Superdome stages the 34th edition of WrestleMania, which sees a number of fascinating matches booked and the potential second departure of Brock Lesnar, plus a number of rumoured returns including that of the supposedly retired Undertaker.

But one of the biggest matches of the night could well be that of AJ Styles against Shinsuke Nakamura as the two fan-favourites go up against each other for the WWE Championship, while both women’s titles will be on the line as Charlotte Flair takes on Asuka for the Smackdown Championship and Alexa Bliss defends against Nia Jax for the Raw version.

But it’s the professional debut of Ronda Rousey – who teams up with Kurt Angle to face Triple H and Stephanie McMahon – that could well be the highlight as the former UFC champion makes her bow in the WWE.

Raw Women's Championship Match

Bliss soars through the air after leaping off the corner post and backflipping into Jax - complete with a twist in the middle - and the champ is definitely on the front foot as she lands a kneeling DDT. Going for the pin, Bliss gets two, and throws a mini hissy fit in frustration.

Raw Women's Championship Match

Bliss has riled Jax once too often, and after grabbing Bliss by the throat, Jax screams "shut the hell up" before launching her across the ring and delibering a powerslam. Bliss fights back with a right hand tot he face, and she goes once again to the top rope. Bliss goes for the hurricanrana, but Jax catches her and flips Bliss into the turnbuckle. Jax omves in for the kill, but again Bliss grabs her by the eyes and buys herself some time.

But Jax slams Bliss into the mat, and instead of pinning her, she carries Bliss up to the middle rope, and Samoan Drops her!

Now we're talking. What could - and should - be the fight of the night sees AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura go head-to-head for the WWE Championship. Strap yourself in for this one!

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura

What an entrance! Played in by legendary blonde guitarist Nita Strauss, 20 violinists and 14 drummers, Nakamura brings the WWE Universe to their feet in unison for his iconic entrance. That was something to behold.

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura

What has Styles got to match that? The Phenomenal One goes for plain and simple, walking out alone to his trademark entrance music. 1-0 Nakamura for me.

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura

And we're underway!

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Styles gets the first takedown, but Nakamura responds with  kick to the jaw of Styles, and when Nakamura relaxes his head against Styles on the ropes, he gets a big slap across the chops for his cheekiness. That spurs Nakamura into life and he floors Styles again before driving his knee into the champion's face.

About that entrance...

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura

Styles goes for the first pin, but it's only good for a two count and he decides to try and wear Nakamura down by putting him in a headlock on the floor. They're yet to get the crowd going, which is a bit of a surprise, but you feel like this could burst into life at any moment.

AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura

And Styles does just that! He leaps above a running Nakamura, ducks beneath him and when he comes for a third time Styles delivers a brutal double-leg dropkick. He tries to capitlise by leaping outside onto the Japanese, but Nakamura reads it and sweeps his legs away with a high kick that causes Styles to land head-first on the apron.
