Jonjo Shelvey has drifted through this game with all the ease of a Sunday morning stroll down the garden. He's barely broken a sweat, and absolutely run the game, afforded such space by Brighton.
45 minutes
Two added minutes, unfortunately. One surely would have sufficed.
Oh, Brighton. Brighton, Brighton, Brighton.
Cardiff's defeat meant this was an ideal opportunity to take a huge step towards safety, but they've been dreadful.
It's been a general snooze fest at the Amex, one moment of real quality from Newcastle the only time the game has so much as sparked.
Ayoze Perez - virtually on one leg thanks to a hip injury that later saw him removed - finished brilliantly after lovely touches from Paul Dummett and Salomon Rondon, and that'll do for the noteworthy instances of a distinctly average 45 minutes.
38% possession. Zero shots. Booed off.
A disgraceful half. Brighton are at home!
Something had to be changed.
On comes Solly March, replacing the largely anonymous Florin Andone.
Back underway.
46 minutes
March has gone to the right wing, but there's further issues for Brighton here.
Beram Kayal's hamstring has gone. He's stretching it out, giving it a massage, but he may not be long for the game.
47 minutes
Meanwhile Brighton have yet another free kick, this one actually finding Glenn Murray's head, but it would take something special to score from there.
It is not. A few yards wide of Martin Dubravka's goal, and loopy and slow anyway.
48 minutes
Another elongated preparatory period for a substitute, Yves Bissouma taking a while to sort his final sartorial choices.
Beram Kayal limps off.
