Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

18' - Demarai Gray has looked threatening in these early stages. He's just won Leicester a free-kick in a very dangerous position after being caught in a Kurt Zouma-Mame Biram Diouf sandwich.
21' - What a chance! Demarai Gray cuts inside on the left wing and aims a delicately dinked cross in towards Shinji Okazaki at the far post. However, the Japan international can't make contact and the ball goes behind for a goal-kick.
24' - We've had the first substitution of the day and it's the man in the middle of the park, Bobby Madley, who has made way.
He's been replaced by Jon Moss after picking up a calf injury.
28' - Big chance - and this time it's for Stoke. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting finds himself one-on-one with Harry Maguire in the Leicester penalty area after good work from Ramadan Sobhi. The Stoke striker shimmies past Maguire but his low shot is saved well by Kasper Schmeichel.
32' - Jack Butland misjudges Christian Fuchs' cross in towards Jamie Vardy from the left wing and the covering Eric Pieters is forced to head the ball behind for a corner.
GOAL! Stoke 0-1 Leicester (Iborra)
33' - Harry Maguire gets his head to Riyad Mahrez's corner and Vicente Iborra gobbles up the knockdown, smacking the ball past Jack Butland with his left foot.
On the balance of chances created, that's probably deserved.
36' - What a save! Shinji Okazaki's header from Demarai Gray's cross is tipped over the crossbar at point-blank range by Jack Butland.
The watching Gareth Southgate will surely have been impressed by that.
