From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Pre-match quotes from Mark Hughes
On the possibility of winning back-to-back games following last week's victory away to Watford: "Everybody knows the importance of back-to-back wins. It would be good to be able to do that on the back of a really good away performance."
On naming an unchanged side from last weekend: "We've been looking for continuity in terms of selection. We're grateful that we've been able to name the same side. The players deserve that in terms of what they did last week."
On the threat posed by Leicester: "They are a very good team. In recent games against them we've found it difficult. They've got a lot of talent at the top end of the pitch so we'll have to be vigilant."

The players are in the tunnel at the bet365 Stadium. Kick-off is just over five minutes away!
5' - Leicester have the first meaningful attack of the match as Riyad Mahrez sets Jamie Vardy away with a long through pass. Vardy collects the ball on the right wing before firing a low cross in towards Demarai Gray in the penalty area. However, the ball is blocked by a Stoke defender and Leicester have to settle for a corner, which comes to nothing.
11' - Lovely play. Demarai Gray squares Kurt Zouma up on the edge of the Stoke penalty area before beating him and drilling an accurate, low cross in towards Jamie Vardy on the edge of the six-yard box. Kevin Wimmer just about gets to the ball first to deny the Leicester striker a tap-in.
14' - A slack pass from Vicente Iborra midway inside the Leicester half gifts Stoke their first shooting opportunity of the match. However, Xherdan Shaqiri's effort from just outside the penalty area is poorly struck and the ball dribbles wide of Kasper Schmeichel's goal.
