From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Arsenal have an immediate chance to gain revenge over Manchester City for their EFL Cup final defeat last weekend as they host the Premier League runaway leaders at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night in their rearranged weekend fixture.

With the match set to go ahead despite the widespread snowstorms that have battered the United Kingdom this week, Arsenal will hope for a very different result than the one they experienced at Wembley last Sunday. The Gunners head into the match 10 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, and another loss this evening would come as another serious blow to their top four hopes.

City meanwhile can restore a 16-point lead at the top of the Premier League table if they can secure the three points away from home, which would leave them just six more wins away from claiming the title. Having dispatched Arsenal 3-0 in comfortable circumstances last Sunday, Pep Guardiola’s side will be confident of another win to throw Arsenal’s season into further peril.

The match will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event from 19:00.

53' - Penalty saved!

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang puts his penalty to Ederson's left but the City stopper dives the right way and palms the ball away from danger.

57' - Manchester City certainly aren't the dominant force they were in the first half but they are still pressing Arsenal high and putting them under a lot of pressure.

The home side's fans are booing every time the ball ends up at the feet of Petr Cech.

59' - Chance for Arsenal!

Aaron Ramsey's lofted through pass is struck first time on the volley by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but the striker's effort rifles just wide of Ederson's near post.

64' - This is superb game management by City.

They've been keeping possession for the last few minutes having realised that Arsenal probably had the better of the first 15 minutes of this second half.

70' - It's fair to say this second half isn't quite delivering the same level of quality that we saw in the first half. Not too much to report on from the last five minutes or so.

72' - Oleksandr Zinchenko replaces Kyle Walker for City.

78' - Superb save!

Sergio Aguero is played in on goal by Ilkay Gundogan but his driven low shot is magnificently kept out by Petr Cech's right hand.
