It looked like Chelsea had come from behind to triumph when Marcos Alonso struck six minutes from time, after Jack Wilshere's first league goal since May 2015 had been cancelled out by an Eden Hazard penalty.
But the Gunners would not be beaten and Bellerin punished Alonso's poor clearing header with a fine finish for a share of the points - though there was still time for Chelsea's Davide Zappacosta to hit the crossbar.

23' - Good save! Thibaut Courtois comes to Chelsea's rescue again as he springs down to his left to deny Alexandre Lacazette after a good pass from Mesut Ozil.
25' - Tiemoue Bakayoko gets on the end of Cesc Fabregas' corner but the Frenchman can't control his header and the ball loops over the crossbar.
27' - Tiemoue Bakayoko holds off Ainsley Maitland-Niles to get on the end of Cesc Fabregas' through pass but the midfielder's shot is at a good height for Petr Cech and the goalkeeper tips the ball over the crossbar for a Chelsea corner, which comes to nothing.

31' - Jack Wilshere collects the first booking of the match for a late challenge on former teammate Cesc Fabregas.
34' - Cesc Fabregas picks out Tiemoue Bakayoko in the box with a wonderful, lofted pass but the Frenchman's control lets him down when a good first touch would've created a scoring opportunity.
37' - Chelsea have a free-kick in a wonderful position after Granit Xhaka brings Tiemoue Bakayoko down on the very edge of the penalty area... but Marcos Alonso, usually so good from dead balls, blasts his shot well over the crossbar.
39' - Mesut Ozil plays a one-two with Granit Xhaka before letting fly from distance but his shot whistles inches wide of Thibaut Courtois' far post.
