Hector Bellerin's stoppage-time goal rescued a 2-2 draw for Arsenal in a pulsating and controversial Premier League clash with Chelsea.

It looked like Chelsea had come from behind to triumph when Marcos Alonso struck six minutes from time, after Jack Wilshere's first league goal since May 2015 had been cancelled out by an Eden Hazard penalty.

But the Gunners would not be beaten and Bellerin punished Alonso's poor clearing header with a fine finish for a share of the points - though there was still time for Chelsea's Davide Zappacosta to hit the crossbar.

1' - We are underway in North London!

2' - Eden Hazard has the first shot of the match but it's a really poor one from just inside the Arsenal penalty area and Rob Holding makes the block.

6' - Alexandre Lacazette is fouled by N'Golo Kante 25 yards from goal and the resulting free-kick, taken by Alexis Sanchez, deflects off Gary Cahill in the wall and goes just past the wrong-footed Thibaut Courtois' far post.

That was almost a very, very fortunate opening goal for the hosts.

Cesc Fabregas of Chelsea and Jack Wilshere of Arsenal battle for the ball

11' - Eden Hazard gets in behind the Arsenal defence and is picked out by Alvaro Morata but Calum Chambers gets back just in time to block the Belgian's angled shot.

It's been a really open game in the early stages.

14' - What a miss!

Alvaro Morata gets on the end of Tiemoue Bakayoko's optimistic punt up field but, with bags of time and just Petr Cech to beat, the Spanish striker puts his close-range finish wide of the goalkeeper's far post.

Liam Corless3 January 2018 20:00

15' - Alvaro Morata has another chance to give Chelsea the lead but his finish from Victor Moses' cross is straight at Petr Cech.

Arsenal's defenders needs to wake up here.

Liam Corless3 January 2018 20:02

17' - Off the posts! Anthony Taylor ignores a penalty appeal from Ainsley Maitland-Niles but it almost doesn't matter as Arsenal nearly take the lead just moments later through Alexis Sanchez anyway. The Chilean plays an intricate one-two with Mesut Ozil inside the penalty area before shooting, only for Thibaut Courtois to tip the ball onto the post... and the ball to roll across the goal-line, hit the other post and land right back in the Chelsea goalkeeper's arms.

What a start to this match we have had! It's a wonder that it's still 0-0.
