It looked like Chelsea had come from behind to triumph when Marcos Alonso struck six minutes from time, after Jack Wilshere's first league goal since May 2015 had been cancelled out by an Eden Hazard penalty.
But the Gunners would not be beaten and Bellerin punished Alonso's poor clearing header with a fine finish for a share of the points - though there was still time for Chelsea's Davide Zappacosta to hit the crossbar.

43' - Cesc Fabregas is booked for a foul on Jack Wilshere. Looked a little harsh, that one.
45' - What a chance.
Eden Hazard cuts inside past three Arsenal defenders before laying the ball off for Cesc Fabregas, only for the Spaniard's shaped shot to sail over Petr Cech's crossbar from just outside the box.
Half-time - Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea
The referee brings an end to the opening period and we're level at the break after 45 very interesting minutes of football.
Both teams have had good chances to open the scoring but Petr Cech and, in particular, Thibaut Courtois, have been on top form.
Let's hope for more of the same after the break.
Cesc Fabregas challenges Jack Wilshere
49' - Alvaro Morata spins away from Rob Holding on the half-way line but is brought down as he runs towards goal. The Arsenal defender is probably a little lucky to get away without a booking there.
50' - Great goalkeeping.
Eden Hazard gets on the end of Cesc Fabregas' through ball but his low shot is saved by Petr Cech's feet. The ball rebounds out to Tiemoue Bakayoko, who crosses first time for Marcos Alonso, only for the Arsenal goalkeeper to spring to his left to keep out the Chelsea wing-back's header.
52' - Chance! Alexandre Lacazette gets a little lucky as his poor first touch rebounds straight back to him off Gary Cahill and puts him through one-on-one with Thibaut Courtois. The French striker sets himself before shooting low with his left foot, only to again be denied by the Chelsea goalkeeper.
Both goalkeepers are playing superbly tonight.
