From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and more are setting themselves up for business with the summer transfer window officially open.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready for the biggest revamp of the United squad in years. A new centre-back is high on his priority list with Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Leicester's Harry Maguire both options. It won't just be incomings, however, with Paul Pogba a high-profile target for Real Madrid and Alexis Sanchez on his way out with Inter Milan and Juventus fighting it out for his signature - if he drops his wage demands. Liverpool could be active too as they look to go one better after failing to win the Premier League title by just a single point. Champions Manchester City are always big players in the market and could go big with the prospect of a potential transfer ban looming.

However, it's not because they don't want the Colombian, but so they can negotiate a cheaper price with the Gunners, with the Naples side hoping to reduce the price to €2m,

West Ham are interested in signing Cardiff's Player of the Year, goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, according to Football Insider.

The 29-year-old kept 10 clean sheets in his first Premier League season despite Cardiff getting relegated.

A move for Etheridge would come as a surprise for Hammers fans considering their current keeper, Lukasz Fabianski was their own Player of the Year.

However, second-choice keeper Adrian is expected to leave on a free so Etheridge would likely be brought in to provide competition and push Fabianski on even further.
