Transfer deadline day summer 2019: The deals done so far

The transfer window ended with a flurry of activity as the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester, Sheffield United and Manchester City all put pen to paper on a number of late deals.

While the Gunners secured the services of David Luiz and Kieran Tierney, their rivals Spurs brought in Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis having failed to finalise a transfer for Paulo Dybala.

Elsewhere, Manchester United sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, Leicester bought Dennis Praet, Mo Besic joined Sheffield United and, in one of the more unexpected deals of the day, Manchester City signed Derby's Scott Carson on loan. Aston Villa have launched a shock move for Sevilla striker Wassim Ben Yedder, according to reports in Spain. 

The Frenchman has been a target for Manchester United and Monaco, however, the Villains are now hoping to steal a cut-price deal for the 28-year-old, who scored 18 goals in 35 La Liga games last season.

Swiss striker Albian Ajeti has completed his move to West Ham from FC Basel, signing a four-year deal at the London Stadium with the option for an extra year. 

“Once I heard of West Ham’s interest I didn’t have to think twice about signing for such a big, traditional club in the Premier League," the 22-year-old said upon his arrival.

Lemina issued a "come and get me plea" this summer but found few ears to answer his call. 

The 25-year-old was restricted to 21 Premier League appearances last season due to injury.

Crystal Palace are reportedly planning to hijack Watford's move for Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr.

Watford have had a £25m bid rejected for the player but were confident of getting a deal over the line today.

However, Palace have now developed a serious interest in the player in a clear sign that Wilfried Zaha may yet leave before the 5pm deadline.
