Fulham are taking on Aston Villa this evening at Craven Cottage as Scott Parker’s newly promoted side search for their first points of the season.

Fulham struggled against Arsenal on the opening day but were much improved against Leeds, eventually going down 4-3. But they will need to tighten up defensively, having already shipped seven goals and looking highly susceptible at the back, something which proved their undoing in the Premier League two years ago.

Villa got off to the perfect start beating Sheffield United and will be eager to continue that momentum in what could well be a battle between two relegation fighters come the end of the season. Follow all the action below:

It’s over to Anfield now, where Liverpool are looking to establish an early advantage over their title rivals. Manchester City have already dropped points, and Chelsea and Manchester United still look like teams in transition. Jurgen Klopp’s side, meanwhile, appeared to be back to their imperious best with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge last time out.

Arsenal will be a real test, though, especially given the two teams’ recent meetings. The Community Shield victory will still be fresh in the memory of Mikel Arteta’s players, and they’ve made a habit of pulling off surprise results since the Spaniard’s appointment.

This probably won’t be a straightforward one for Liverpool.

Full time

That’s it! An impressive victory for Villa, who made it look very easy in the end. They’re now the only side in the division yet to concede a goal, which few would have predicted before a ball was kicked.

Their task was made much easier by a dismal Fulham performance, though. Scott Parker’s side look a long way short of Premier League quality at the moment.

Mings and Kamara both pick up yellow cards for an altercation off the ball. Villa then defend a corner and edge closer to another clean sheet.

Off the bar! Bryan fires in a shot from just inside the box and forces Martinez into a flying save to his left. The goalkeeper gets enough of a touch to push the ball onto the woodwork.

There’ll be four minutes of added time.

Kamara fizzes in a dangerous ball from the right, which Cash manages to turn behind at the back post. No Fulham players attacked it anyway.

Mings gets his head to another free kick, this time nodding his effort into the ground. It bounces up nastily but Areola manages to tip it over the bar.

Grealish surges down the left, spots the overlapping run of Watkins and slides him through into the box. The Villa striker runs into trouble, though, and hits the ground in frustration. He wants a goal tonight.

Villa bring on another Premier League debutant: Bertrand Traore, who scored a spectacular goal against Bristol City in midweek, comes on for Trezeguet.
