From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Follow all the action from the FA Cup’s fourth round ties this afternoon.

Six fixtures get underway at 3pm, with Championship leaders Norwich City travelling to Barnsley. Brighton are hoping to avoid the same fate as West Brom when they welcome Blackpool to the Amex, with the Seasiders having produced one of the shocks of the third round.

Sheffield United are looking to keep their momentum alive after this competition brought their first win of the season against Bristol Rovers in the previous round. Meanwhile, West Ham are in flying form and won’t want to risk any negative drop when they take on Doncaster. All-Championship ties between Millwall and Bristol City and Nottingham Forest’s trip to Swansea complete the mid-afternoon ties. Follow all the action live below:

Michael Duff also spoke about the importance of an FA Cup especially in these pressing times due to covid. He said:

It's essential. there's no money coming in. Every pound coming in is probably worth a tenner in normal times. I'm delighted for the club. Lots of hard work goes on to get these types of games. These games don't come around very often. It's a shame because [with fans] the place would've been bouncing. Would that have seen us through in the last 10 minutes? I'm not so sure - but the key is to enjoy it.

"We're back to it against Oldham on Monday and we have to kick on now. You guys will all disappear, we're halfway through the season and we have to kick on now."

Reaction from Cheltenham boss Michael Duff who said:

I don't know if it's tough to take, I'm super proud of the players. I don't know if we deserved [to concede] the third but they are world-class players and scored three in the last 10 minutes.

"I'm incredibly proud. the players they brought on from the bench and they way they celebrated the goals tells you something. They know they've been in a game. They've done that to better teams than us.

"They should have been 1-0 up after about 10 seconds and I thought it could be a long night. The lads grew into the game and gained belief as it went along. We finished the first half strong. [The long throw] is a threat. We knew we had to pick our moments to attack and when you're 1-0 up at 80 minutes you begin to think 'could you?' but unfortunately it wasn't to be."

Phil Foden is now Manchester City's top scorer with nine goals this season. He's netted more goals in 25 appearances this season than he did in 38 games last term (8).

The result didn’t go their way today but Cheltenham Town have certainly gained a few more fans with that performance. They made Man City work incredibly hard to win that game and for a few minutes thought they could pull off the improbable.

Reaction from Phil Foden who told BBC Sport:

I thought we were a bit slow at times in the first half but we're delighted we got the win. The long balls were not working in the first half so we tried to keep it shorter in the second half to break the lines and in the end we got the goal.

"There's no better feeling than scoring. I'm just enjoying scoring at the moment because that's what I enjoy most. I'm playing well at the moment but you can easily have a bad performance so I'm just trying to stay at the top of my game and playing like this."

Cheltenham 1 - 3 Man City

90+5 mins: Full time. Fantastic performance from Cheltenham Town who for 20 minutes or so had the lead against six-time FA Cup winners Man City. Tired legs in the final 10 minutes did for the Robins in the end as the Man City substitutes came on to inject more pace and energy into the match. Phil Foden, Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres stepped up and brought City the win.

Cheltenham 1 - 3 Man City - Torres

90+4 mins: GOAL! Relief for Man City who cap off a good game with a third goal. Cancelo spots the run of Gundogan to the byline and slots the ball to him. Gundogan cuts it back and Torres finishes well.
