Prediction...
It’s a big game for…
Joe Hart: The Manchester City player currently on-loan at Torino will be eager to show he’s still the best England shot-stopper.
He has proven himself as Torino’s number one, but has cost the Italian side vital wins this season. Most recently two mistakes cost Torino a victory against Inter Milan.
Best stat…
Joachim Low’s men have gone 558 minutes without conceding a goal. The last was against France in Euro 2016 with Antoine Griezmann was the scorer.
Remember when…
England got their Euro 2000 campaign off to a good start against the Germans as both teams went head-to-head in a group that also included Romania and Portugal.
In classic style, an Alan Shearer header set-up by David Beckham put the Three Lions ahead. However, both countries would fail to qualify out of the group.
Player to watch…
Timo Werner: This is the 21-year-old’s first call up for the national first team after he impressed Joachim Low with his performances from the left side of midfield for RB Leipzig, who sees potential in the forward.
With a point to prove and having bagged 14 goals this season, Werner is certainly a player to keep an eye on.

Germany to win: 3/4
England to win: 15/4
Draw: 11/4
9 mins: Cahill, Walker, Dier, Alli ... so many England players are intimately familiar with this 3-4-3-1 formation and, fingers crossed, it's looking very effective so far. Dier and Livermore looking solid in the midfield, Alli and Lallana both finding space, Vardy lively..
Cue the inevitable German goal in 5...4...3...
12 mins: An important moment in this, and indeed any, match featuring the German national team:
Moments later Germany have their first proper sniff - Sane and Hector combine nicely on the edge of the box before setting up Podolski, but his shot is deflected clear.
The fairy-tale remains on ice.
14 mins: Germany beginning to move the ball about with a bit more confidence. Hector bursts forward and looks to slip in Werner, but a sliding Livermore intercepts the pass. Hart collects.
16 mins: Yikes, Germany have just gone all Manchester City at the back. They're struggling to deal with the English high-press with Vardy running around like an absolute loonie, and Rudiger almost catches Ter Stegen out with a thumping back-pass.
The keeper prevents it going out for a corner but shanks his clearance and concedes a throw. England take it long and waste it, though.
17 mins: Chance for Germany! A demob-happy Podolski gets the ball in some space on the edge of the box and shoots when he should have passed. It's deflected clear.
18 mins: A decent standard of early match banter from the official German account:
Germany still sniffing around on and off the pitch. Livermore eventually grows frustrated and bundles over Hector and the Germans have a chance to pump it into the box.
Instead they take it short and lose the ball. Another good tackle from Keane.
21 mins: Germany looking very comfortable at present but they're not producing very much with their surfeit of possession. They look to slip Sane in down the right but the City winger isn't quite quick enough to reach the pass. England clear.
23 mins: Better from England. Walker skims Hector, cuts back inside and lays off Keane. The defender swings a cross into the box and Hummels just about nods it clear from Lallana.
26 mins: Walker and Bertrand have started a little too conservatively for my liking. There's plenty of space out wide but the two full-backs are sitting relatively deep, which is allowing Kimmich and Hector to do most of the attacking.
Eric Dier gets England's first real sight of goal. England win a corner which Lallana swings in; the Spurs man connects well with a header but directs it straight at Ter Stegen.
