Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Form guide…
England: DLWWDW
Spain: LWWDWW
2 mins: A little danger down the right as Carvajal finds space, but his lofted cross to the head of Silva is easily dealt with by Hart.
5 mins: Jamie Vardy crunching tackle in on Cesar Azpilicueta. He gets the ball but rakes the shin of the Chelsea defender on his follow through. Could have been nasty, but Vardy gets away with a warning.
8 mins: GOAL! ENGLAND 1 (Lallana) SPAIN 0
Lingard does brilliantly to rob the ball in midfield and Lallana plays a delightful cross into Vardy who is brought down by Reina as he tries to round the goalkeeper from close range. No hesitation in pointing to the spot from the Romanian referee and Lallana sticks the resulting penalty top corner.
13 mins: England certainly are playing on the counter-attack, and why not? They are so far doing well to soak up any Spanish chances and with Lingard, Sterling and Vardy on the break... Well, the pace is frightening.
14 mins: Chance for Spain, Mata and Carvajal link on the right with the Man United man pulling the ball back for Vitolo, who can only drag his shot wide of the post.
20 mins: Vardy and Lingard are showing their pace off down the left fairly frequently now. Spain are looking exposed there with Sterling the latest to exploit that area with his speed and he wins a corner.
22 mins: England fans now singing Euro 2016 favourite 'Don't take me home'. Never understood that song being sung. While playing at home.
24 mins: Lallana is down with a knock now and is getting some treatment. And he's coming off. Theo Walcott will replace him.
It looked fairly innocuous but clearly he doesn't want to take any chances with in a friendly. Jurgen Klopp will be pleased he has been withdrawn.
