Monday night sees a battle at the bottom as Everton host Crystal Palace with both teams desperate for points and the visitors having had a dramatic afternoon - first with Roy Hodgson resigning, following illness, and then Oliver Glasner being appointed as new manager - though he won’t be in the dugout.

Everton win the ball back and Doucoure leads the counter-attack for Everton. He holds it up, waiting for his team-mates to join him, and he switches the play to Godfrey. The full-back gets it out of his feet and delivers into the penalty area towards Calvert-Lewin, but Johnstone is able to come off his line and catch it.

The Toffees keep possession well before Tarkowski sends a long, searching ball to Mykolenko, and Ward is forced to head behind for a corner. Garner is there to take and he delivers towards the penalty spot, but Edouard is able to head it away. The Eagles then look to counter-attack, but Garner gives away a free-kick near the halfway line.

Everton are starting to show a bit of attacking intent as Mykolenko slots a throughball towards Calvert-Lewin. He holds it up and finds McNeil, but his cross is overhit. Godfrey races over to prevent a throw-in, and manages to win one for the Toffees deep inside the Palace half, but it comes to nothing.

Palace have an opportunity to test Everton from a corner, with Wharton standing over it. He delivers towards the front post, but Calvert-Lewin is there to head it away. The ball comes back to Wharton on the left-hand side, but the young midfielder's cross goes straight into the hands of Pickford between the sticks.

Palace are lining up with Richards in a back three with Andersen and Ward, with Munoz and Mitchell as wing-backs. The Eagles have opted for a slight change of system to their usual formation, with the capital club struggling in the Premier League so far this season.

Meanwhile, Palace have made three alterations from their defeat at home to Chelsea last time out. There’s a change between the sticks, with Henderson dropping to the bench and Johnstone coming into the side. Ward is also named in the starting XI, and he will replace Will Hughes, who fails to make the squad. The third and final change sees Edouard coming in for Franca in attack for the Eagles.

Dyche has made just one change from Everton’s previous fixture against Manchester City, where the Toffees were defeated 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Doucoure returns to the starting XI after a spell on the treatment table. Harrison is the player to make way, and he will drop to the bench.
