From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The Brazilian came off the substitutes' bench to fire low beyond Alphonse Areola after first-half goals from Daniel Sturridge and James Milner had been cancelled out by strikes from Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappe either side of the interval.
Liverpool's win sends them to the top of Group C, with a trip to Italy to take on Napoli to come next month.

50 minutes
That is a nice pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold, fizzing into Mohamed Salah's feet on the edge of the box but the Egyptian lets it get away from him, and Juan Bernat times his challenge well on this occasion.
51 minutes
For once, all the noise at Anfield is coming from the away fans. PSG have brought a vocal contingent across the Channel and they are looking to inspire their side to an equaliser.
54 minutes
A stepover and acceleration to beat one, a drop of the shoulder to create space - Kylian Mbappe looks so effortless going past players, but thus far has failed to make any sort of telling contribution to the game.
Liverpool are moving the ball nicely through midfield and Mohamed Salah has been on the ball a lot in the first ten minutes of the half.
GOAL!!!
OR NOT??
MOHAMED SALAH KNOCKS INTO AN EMPTY NET, BUT THE REFEREE BLOWS HIS WHISTLE FOR A FOUL WHILE THE EGYPTIAN IS CELEBRATING AND THE GOAL WILL NOT STAND.
58 minutes
Let's unpack that, then: Wijnaldum fires a shot on goal, Alphonse Areola parries and Daniel Sturridge miscontrols. Sturridge lunges at the ball and catches Areola in an unpleasant area. The linesman does not react, the referee does not blow his whistle and the official alongside the goal is initially unmoved.
Salah puts the ball in the back of the next, but the referee, on consultation with the extra official, halts his celebrations and blows for the foul.
In the end, the correct decision was reached but there was a significant delay between the goal being scored and the whistle going. The linesman was back at the halfway line ready for the game to kick-off again!
61 minutes
That is a huge chance for Daniel Sturridge. More joy in wide areas for Liverpool, and Sturridge has a free header eight yards out, but it is lacking in power and straight at Areola.
That incident has stirred up the Liverpool crowd who are now howling for every decision and booing the PSG goalkeeper, for some reason.
65 minutes
Daniel Sturridge has another attempt, though this is of a more speculative nature, attempting to bend the ball around a PSG defender but misjudging it badly. The ball flies high and wide without a hint of curl on it.
66 minutes
Mohamed Salah is softly fouled by Presnel Kimpembe about 30 yards from goal.
And Liverpool nearly force an opportunity from the free-kick. Another clever routine, with Milner lofting it for an onrushing teammate to square for the waiting Sadio Mane. Fortunately for the French side they have enough cover and cut it out.
