The Brazilian came off the substitutes' bench to fire low beyond Alphonse Areola after first-half goals from Daniel Sturridge and James Milner had been cancelled out by strikes from Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappe either side of the interval.
Liverpool's win sends them to the top of Group C, with a trip to Italy to take on Napoli to come next month.

27 minutes
Nearly an uncomfortable moment for Virgil Van Djik, misjudging a header, but Kylian Mbappe can't corral the bouncing ball and Liverpool can clear.
28 minutes
That is the Van Djik we are used to seeing - the Dutch centre-half steps up to cut out Neymar's attempted pass to Mbappe on the edge of the box.
Neymar makes an excellent run in behind and thinks he is in on goal before the referee calls him back for offside. Unfortunate for PSG - the Brazilian was clearly onside.
IN FOR ROBERTO FIRMINO, IN WITH A GOAL! DANIEL STURRIDGE GIVES LIVERPOOL THE LEAD!
1-0 Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum work some space on the right and the former's ball in agonisingly clears everyone in the box. Andrew Robertson collects and deliciously whips it back in, on to Daniel Sturbridge's head in space and the England striker heads home.
33 minutes
Liverpool threaten again soon after the goal, but now Neymar knocks the ball against James Milner's hand and earns a free-kick in a dangerous position.
The Brazilian tries to power one, but it cannons off the wall and out for a PSG corner.
34 minutes
Nearly an equaliser! Right off the training ground, with Neymar playing a lovely ball along the floor to Kylian Mbappe who peeled back to the penalty spot, and should really hit the target. Just over the bar.
It is an ill-advised challenge from PSG's left-back Juan Bernat. Georginio Wijnaldum is not really going anywhere in the box and there are plenty of PSG shirts surrounding him, but Bernat stretches for the ball and clearly trips the Dutch midfielder.
Milner calmly slots the penalty into the bottom right corner, and Liverpool extend their lead with 36 minutes gone.
