From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The Brazilian came off the substitutes' bench to fire low beyond Alphonse Areola after first-half goals from Daniel Sturridge and James Milner had been cancelled out by strikes from Thomas Meunier and Kylian Mbappe either side of the interval.
Liverpool's win sends them to the top of Group C, with a trip to Italy to take on Napoli to come next month.

8 minutes
A mazy run from Trent Alexander-Arnold, a stabbed cross - another corner.
9 minutes
Ey up! Mo Salah goes bare chested while shedding his undershirt, before curling a lovely ball in from the corner, with Alphonse Areola again pressed into work, tipping it over the bar.
PSG struggling to find a foothold in the game, and their superstar front-three are entirely unwilling to do any semblance of defensive work.
12 minutes
Gorgeous interplay from Salah and Alexander-Arnold to work the ball into space, but PSG recover and force Liverpool back. The hosts continue to press and their visitors are really struggling to get out, though.
13 minutes
Another Thiago Silva intervention, another corner for Liverpool.
Worryingly Sadio Mane goes down after attempting to cross that one, but the Senegalese attacker is swiftly back upright and takes his place in the box for Mohamed Salah's out-swinger.
Joe Gomez does well to contort his body and get his head on that one, but his header doesn't threaten the goal.
16 minutes
PSG finally get some time on the ball. Marquinhos has started at the bottom of the three man midfield.
First chance for the French side. The ball breaks for Angel Di Maria who plays a nice reverse pass to Neymar. The Brazilian drives into the box and strikes firmly at Alisson, who parries and is a little fortunate that the following effort is softly hit straight at him.
18 minutes
Kylian Mbappe has his first opportunity stretch his legs and counter at speed, but instead puts his foot on the ball and looks for a cross field pass. He somehow manages to bisect Edinson Cavani and Neymar perfectly and the ball trickles out for a Liverpool throw in.
20 minutes
Sadio Mane is superbly found by James Milner's curling pass, but Thiago Silva authoritatively deals with the situation before Mane can get a real sight on goal.
Both sides look threatening when they get the ball forward, as one would expect.
23 minutes
A first forward foray from Thomas Meunier on PSG's right, but Liverpool's defence never look particularly threatened and the attack fizzles out.
25 minutes
Another enticing cross from James Milner (who has again started the game well) after making a run down the right wing. Another corner for the home side.
Sadio Mane picks up the ball after the corner is cleared and embarrasses Neymar in a left-back position but his effort is rather wild.
