From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Mbappe gave Monaco a 19th-minute lead shortly after Fabinho had missed a penalty for the visitors, and they went further ahead when Dortmund defender Sven Bender headed into his own net.
Ousmane Dembele pulled one back for Dortmund in the 57th minute but another defensive mistake allowed Mbappe to break away and grab a third goal for the Ligue 1 side. Shinji Kagawa gave the German side hope with a neat finish six minutes from time.

44 mins: There's going to be two minutes of additional time. Dortmund are seeing lots of the ball but struggling to do much with it.
HALF-TIME: Borussia Dortmund 0 AS Monaco 2
Well that couldn't have gone any better for Monaco. Mbappe gave them the lead before Bender headed the ball into his own net, and if Fabinho had held his nerve at the penalty spot it would have been three.
Dortmund need something special in the second-half.

And their second...
We're almost ready for the start of the second-half. There's going to be two changes for the home side: Bender is replaced by Sahin. Schmelzer goes off for Pulisic.
46 mins: A good chance for Dortmund immediately from the restart! Dortmund go direct, with Aubameyang charging through on goal. He's tripped by Jemerson around 25-yards out, gifting the home side a free-kick in a very good position.
47 mins: Dembele steps up, but whips his right-footed shot well wide.
50 mins: A much brighter start to the half from Dortmund. Weigl flings a very nice ball into the box which is cleared, before Kagawa side-steps into some space only to be denied by Toure.
Aubameyang then wins a corner and gesticulates to the home crowd to increase the noise. Falcao clears at the near post, though.
53 mins: What a start to the game from Pulisic! He wins the ball out wide and speeds past Raggi with ease, then cutting the ball back across the face of goal. Disappointingly for Dortmund however, there's nobody waiting in the box to apply the final touch.
Surely it's only a matter of time, though...
