Follow live coverage as Chelsea head into their fourth Champions League group stage match looking for another three points which would leave them within touching distance of the knock-out phase, as they face Swedish side Malmo on Tuesday evening. So far, Thomas Tuchel’s side have won twice and suffered defeat to group leaders Juventus, who are at home to Dynamo Kyiv this evening - victory for the Blues would likely see a six-point gap between themselves and third place.
Domestically, Chelsea beat Newcastle comfortably at the weekend after progressing through to the League Cup quarter-finals a week ago, leaving them on a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions. Malmo have lost just once in a six-game run of their own, but that was against their visitors tonight, in a 4-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge in the reverse fixture two weeks ago.
The Blues still have injury concerns in their forward line with Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner sidelined, while Mateo Kovacic is also out injured to further whittle down Tuchel’s squad options until after the upcoming international break. Chelsea remain on course to reach the Champions League knock-out phase after Hakim Ziyech struck in the second half against Malmo to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory earlier tonight.
The Blues attacker tapped home after a wonderful cross by Callum Hudson-Odoi who continued his encouraging recent form to help Thomas Tuchel’s side clinch a third win in Group H.

Manchester United’s problems in the first half came from simple mistakes. I can’t count how many times they gave the ball away by misplacing easy passes. Paul Pogba has had a shocker so far. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored again but Eric Bailly has been United’s best player. He’s throwing himself in front of shots, closing down the ball quickly and getting stuck in at the back.

45+4 mins: Not the best 45 minutes for Manchester United but they’re heading into the break on level terms. Cristiano Ronaldo netted his fourth Champions League goal in as many games since returning to the club and cancelled out Josip Ilicic’s opener. The second half is set up perfectly.

45+1 mins: Oh yes they can! This is a brilliant move from Manchester United. McTominay knocks the ball up to Fernandes on the edge of the box. He gives it to Ronaldo who sends it across to Greenwood. Fernandes makes a run inot the box and Greenwood picks him out. He’s under pressure from Merih Demiral but manages to backheel the ball to Ronaldo who runs onto it and blasts it into the far corner! Great goal.

42 mins: Wan-Bissaka slips a pass into the right side of the box for Greenwood but he’s beaten to the ball by Palomino who knocks it out for a throw in. United then send the ball back to their defensive line and are forced back down the pitch.

39 mins: Greenwood does replace Varane. United move to a back four with Greenwood slotting in on the right, Rashford has moved out to the left with Fernandes sitting behind Ronaldo.
United give the ball away again, Greenwood this time with a pass to Zapata. He carries the ball into the box but doesn’t find a way around Bailly who works the ball out of play once again.

37 mins: Raphael Varane has gone down off the ball and looks to be in some pain. The medical team come on to see to him and he manages to walk off the pitch on his own. He’s not going to continue though, Mason Greenwood is getting ready to come on.

34 mins: Pogba messes up again with a poor pass to Rashford allowing Ilicic to steal the ball and drive it forward. He slots it into Zapata who shoots from the left side of the box but Bailly gets in front of the shot again and deflects the ball out for a corner.

31 mins: What a challenge from Bailly! A throw in from Shaw comes to Pogba who holds onto the ball too long. He’s put under pressure from Koopmeiners and Ilicic and his clearance loops up off Koopmeiners and bounces into the box. It falls for Zapata who shoots on the volley but Bailly leaps in front of the shot and blocks it behind!
