At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.England have already crashed out of the Cricket World Cup, which was sealed by the 33-run defeat to Australia, but restored a small amount of pride with a 160-run win over the Netherlands.
That will hopefully have restored some pride to a side that hit rock bottom during the defeat to Pat Cummins’ side, and it has kept them in the hunt for the ICC Champions Trophy in 2025, with only the top eight qualifying for that event.
The victory over the Netherlands has moved England from the foot of the table into seventh place.
There will be plenty of time after the tournament for a full analysis of how England’s title defence could go so disastrously wrong with very few warning signs before the squad departed for India, but for now there is a chance to qualify for the next ICC event, with a game against Pakistan to come on 11 November.

Dropped catch! Buttler is rooted behind the stumps and forces Root to go one-handed with his left hand and it just bounces out.
England set Netherlands 340 to win
The Netherlands are out ready to start their innings and Chris Woakes has ball in hand.
England set the Netherlands 340 to win
England need to make this advantage count. It was a significant improvement and the bowling has to match for them to keep any hopes of finishing in the top eight and qualifying for the Champions Trophy alive.
England set the Netherlands 340 to win
Here are some photos from the first innings:
England score 339 runs from their 50 overs
It was not a perfect performance by any shot, and it was still a far cry from the destructive batting that saw England crowned World Champions on a sunny day at Lord’s four years ago.
But it was better, largely due to Stokes, who along with Woakes carried the side from 178 for five to their final total.
Stokes weathered the storm while the middle order around him yet again collapsed, but with Woakes they rebuilt and he was well rewarded with his 108 runs.
England had wickets in hand when it came to the final five overs and for once in this tournament they were able to do it!
Stokes accelerated and led his side to a respectable total, and their second score of more than 300 in the World Cup 2023.
Wicket! Stokes out for 108! - England 334-9
Five inside the ring due to slow over rate and Stokes is on strike for the final over of the innings.
van Beek has to bowl his first ball again with an attempted wide yorker that was just too wide.
The next one is a full toss dispatched down the ground for six.
Stokes out! He goes for another big one, the bottom hand comes off the bat and he has been caught at long off for 108!
Wicket! Willey out for 6! - England 327-8
Willey has got off the mark with a massive first-ball six! He has hit a few in this tournament and that one was no different and has gone 75 metres.
He is out next ball but with one over left that will not matter.
Wicket and Woakes 50! England 321-6
Woakes has gone for it this time and has got hold of it and sends it for six to move on to 47, and follows it up with a four to bring up his half century!
He tries to score another one and gets an edge on it as the ball went through to the keeper and has to depart for 51, but it was a good innings from the all-rounder.
Stokes 100 - England 309-6
The sun has just about set in Pune, and Stokes reverse-sweeps for four to bring up his first World Cup hundred.
It came from 78 balls, he absorbed the pressure then accelerated, and has dragged England towards a respectable total here.
