The early Black Friday sales are in full swing, with retailers like Currys, Argos, Boots and Shark dropping their best deals ahead of the official start date of 29 November.

You’ll find all of the best deals in our shopping guides, but for a real-time stream of the latest discounts and Black Friday news, our liveblog has you covered.

Whatever you’re looking for in the sales, whether that be a TV, laptop, mattress or beauty products, the steepest discounts aren’t necessarily the best deals. The true savings are on products that are actually worth your money, so, we’ll be highlighting deals on products we’ve tested ourselves.

In terms of the brands and retailers already on the Black Friday train (ahead of the official sale dates of 29 November to 2 December), Samsung has started its sale, Oodie is offering 50 per cent off blanket hoodies and Dyson is offering hundreds of pounds off its products. Elsewhere, you can find bargains at Boots, Currys, Argos, LookFantastic and more, in what some are calling their biggest Black Friday sale ever.

We’ve been covering the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales for years here at IndyBest, so, we know how to spot a good deal from a dud. If it’s got a decent discount (and it’s worth your money), you’ll find it here.

Best PS5 Black Friday 2024 deals to shop right now

More on the best gaming deals now, and Alex, one of The Independent‘s resident tech experts, predicts we’ll see some stellar PS5 savings this year, along with cheap PS5 bundles, with free PlayStation Plus memberships, games and more. While there aren’t any great deals on the PS5 at the minute, here’s a small discount, available at Amazon.

PS5 Slim disc edition: Was £479.99, now £458, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

This model, with the ability to read Blu-Ray discs, is essential for anyone whose library of games and movies is still physical. It’s the only PS5 console that still comes with a detachable disc drive as standard – not even the PS5 Pro has one of those. “A catalogue of exclusive games – many of them truly unmissable experiences – gives the PS5 a slight edge over the (technically more powerful) Xbox Series X.,” tech writer Steve wrote in his review.

Gamers, what can we expect this Black Friday?

The Nintendo Switch, Game Pass subscriptions, gaming laptops and more could see reductions in the lead-up to, and, during Black Friday. As one of IndyBest’s resident gamers, Steve gives his predictions for 2024, plus early deals, in his Black Friday gaming shopping guide. Here’s one of the steepest discounts so far, on the Meta Quest 3.

Meta Quest 3 512GB: Was £619.99, now £469, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

With the launch of the cheaper Meta Quest 3S for £290, Meta has repriced the existing Meta Quest 3 to make its original (and still best) VR headset more enticing. The 512GB model is the most storage you can get and has come down from £619.99 to £469. It features more sophisticated lenses than those found in the budget Meta Quest 3S, so visuals look a little sharper, and it’s slimmer too.

The Apple ipad 10th gen has fallen to one of its lowest prices

While Apple doesn’t get involved in Black Friday, the tech giant’s gadgets see discounts at third-party retailers. As for iPads, our tech writer, Alex, expects the biggest reductions to be applied to entry-level tablets (the 10th-generation model and 9th-generation models).
