Retailers are kicking off early, with deals on everything from the Toniebox to Jo Malone
The early Black Friday sales are well underway ahead of the official start date of 29 November. From Currys and Argos to Boots and Shark, major brands are already dropping their best deals, so you can start your shopping right away.
You’ll find the creme de la creme of deals so far in our shopping guides, plus, for a real-time stream of discounts and Black Friday news, our liveblog has you covered.
Whatever you’re looking for in the sales, whether that be a TV, laptop, mattress or beauty products, the steepest discounts aren’t necessarily the most covetable deals. The best savings are on products that are actually worth your money, so, we’ll be highlighting deals on products we’ve tested ourselves.
In terms of the brands and retailers already on the Black Friday train (ahead of the official sale dates of 29 November to 2 December), Samsung has started its sale, Oodie is offering 50 per cent off blanket hoodies and Dyson is offering hundreds of pounds off its products. Elsewhere, you can find bargains at Boots, Currys, Argos, LookFantastic and more, in what some are calling their biggest Black Friday sale ever.

Forget the Dyson Airwrap, the Shark FlexStyle is now on sale
While the Dyson airwrap has long been on my wish list, I’m leaning towards Shark’s flexstyle instead. It’s hundreds of pounds cheaper, and, beauty writer Maisie Bovington thinks it’s the best alternative. Even better, Shark’s early Black Friday offers mean it’s on sale now.

Shark’s FlexStyle received top marks in our review. “Similar to the Dyson airwrap, this Shark tool uses Coanda technology, which is when the powerful airflow collects and wraps the hair around the barrel, to create a neat curl.” Maisie explained. “The lightweight, versatile and multifunctional tool made drying and styling a breeze – so much so, we think it is on par with the airwrap, even though it’s £200 cheaper”, she praised.
Best early Apple Black Friday deals, according to a tech writer
Deals on Apple’s products are few and far between – that is, until Black Friday. Alex Lee, one of The Independent’s tech writers, has covered the sale for eight years now, so he really knows his stuff. Oodie’s Black Friday sale has arrived
It’s nearly winter – aka, Oodie season. My Oodie was a real game changer last winter, and if you’re yet to jump on the Oodie bandwagon, there’s 50 per cent off in the Oodie Black Friday sale.

Our reviewer can confirm that the Oodie actually does live up to the hype (and I agree). They dubbed it a “cost-effective way to stay warm this winter without causing your household energy bills to soar”, and praised its “non-restricting design”. It’s supremely cosy, and also comes in ample colourways, including the new all black collection.
Here’s a pre-Black Friday deal on the best dehumidifier
Turning our attention to home appliances now, and dehumidifiers can defend against damp, and help to keep mould at bay. We’re expecting more deals as the month goes on, but here’s a £50 saving on our Indybest top pick that you can shop right now.
Bora smart 20l dehumidifier: Was £299.99, now £249, Currys.co.uk
The best on test, our reviewer found this model was ideal for “homes with severe humidity issues”, while the “generous 4l tank means less frequent emptying”. The odour reducing carbon fibre filter “proved especially useful when testing in the kitchen after cooking and in the bedroom, leaving the air noticeably fresher”, they said.

When is Black Friday?
Not for a little while yet. It technically lands on Friday 29 November, and lasts for four full days, before morphing into the Cyber Monday sales on Monday 2 December. That said, numerous big hitters (see Dyson, Shark and Argos) don’t wait until then. Early Black Friday deals at Argos
Argos started dropping its first early Black Friday deals not so long ago, so you don’t need to wait till the end of November to bag a bargain on tech, toys and home appliances. I’ve been monitoring what’s on offer in my guide below, but here’s a quick rundown; our favourite Oral-B toothbrush is less than half price at the minute (now £35, Argos.co.uk), while the cult favourite Revlon one-step hair dryer and volumiser (now £25, Argos.co.uk) is exactly half price.
