Just as Joe Rogan reminds us that Romero is 39 years old, he does a cartwheel into a front flip upon entering the ring. I hope I look like that when I'm 39...anyway, here comes Weidman to a well chosen walk-out song, or rather a medley of songs that if you didn't know, remind you that he's the American in the bout.

Round 1: Weidman is definitely the busier of the two, and he lands plenty of body kicks on Romero. Weidman gets two takedowns as he persists with his wrestling technique, and beyond one good body kick, Romero has done little of note. Weidman gets a third takedown before the hooter, and that round undoubtedly goes to the American.

Round 2: The start of the second round is delayed because Romero has poured a bottle of water over his head, and is quite frankly soaked. After being dried off - and gaining an extra 15 seconds rest - the bout resumes, and Weidman is again on the front foot, although Romero is showing a bit more this time after getting a telling off from his corner. Romero lands a good left hand on Weidman but he wears it well, and he replies with a knee tot he body before charging in. Romero claims an eye poke, which buys him more time, but replays appear to show slight contact accidentally. Romero suddenly comes alive as he kicks Weidman down by sweeping his left foot out from beneath him and immediately swivels over him to take Weidman's back. Romero gets a clinch takedown, and when Weidman tries to fight out he ends up on his back with Romero above him. Luckily there's only 10 seconds remaining for Weidman to survive, but I give that one to Romero and have this level heading into the last.

Round 3: IT'S OVER! ROMERO KNOCKS OUT WEIDMAN!

A brutal ending! Romero launches himself into a flying knee just as Weidman ducks for a takedown, and he catches him flush on the top of the head. He immediately splits his head open and there's blood everywhere, and eventually the fight is called off with Weidman in big trouble. Romero launches himself out of the ring to celebrate, which is a bit uncalled for while Weidman is not moving, but thankfully he gets up and the two embrace.
Michael Bisping gives Yoel Romero, his next opponent for the middleweight title, the thumbs down, before flipping him the bird, and this one's getting spicy already! Romero responds by telling the Briton he loves him, and you already know that one is going to be a cracker. Still, that was one messy, yet sickening, KO right there.
