Fight underway and Johnson is throwing the kitchen sink. Khabib clinches him against the cage and he's down #ufc205
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Michael Johnson
Round 1: Both come out tentatively, perhaps in respect of the other's skills inside the Octagon. Johnson looks busy in there and he shuffles on the spot, and he's throwing the more punches and kicks. He lands a left on Khabib's chin, but the Russian wears it. He lands another and this time it hurts Khabib! Nurmagomedov goes for the takedown to recover, and he gets the throw and takes side control. He quickly moves into a mounted crucifix, and after taking a few punches to the head Johnson gets out of it. Khabib still has control and delivers more punches and elbows. This is bad for the American, and he gives up the mount and is eating punches.
Johnson makes it to the bell! A brutal round and John McCarthy looks at Johnson as they get up, but he gets the thumbs up. Great survival instincts from Johnson.

Round 2: So now we know it, Johnson can KO Khabib, but only if he keeps the fight standing. Go tot he floor and I very much doubt this will last another five minutes. Johnson is much slower this round and it looks like that's taken a lot out of him, although MJ does slip out of the clinch twice to big applause. Johnson gets taken down but goes for the gullotine! He' can't lock it in and suddenly he's back in the crucifix hold. The punches to the head resume. Johnson is still defending himself but it looks bleak. Each punch thuds on Johnson's skull, but once again he sees it out to the hooter. How, I have no idea.
Johnson's eye is totally closed here. Khabib is talking to him telling him to quit #ufc205
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Michael Johnson
Round 3: Against all odds, we're heading into the final round. Before the round begins, McCarthy tells Johnson's corner that another barrage and this one will be over. Johnson comes out swinging but Khabib takes him down within 30 seconds. The punches resume and you wonder how long this will last, with the referee in close company. Khabib has full mount with an arm trapped for good measure, but Johnson tries to flip over Khabib by using his feet up the fence. IT'S OVER! Khabib Nurmagomedov locks in a kimoura and gets the submission!
Oh wow. Khabib Nurmagomedov has gone on a massive rant against not just Conor McGregor, but Ireland as a whole! He claims Ireland's "chicken" deserves a real fight, and says Ireland's 6m is no match for Russia's 150m. That may be true, but never write off the fighting Irish!
