Novak Djokovic is looking to reach the quarter-finals of Wimbledon in a battle with Holger Rune on Centre Court on Monday evening.
Elena Rybakina produced a superb display earlier in the day before her opponent Anna Kalinskaya was forced to retire hurt.
There were tears for Elina Svitolina, despite victory over , with the Ukrainian left distraught after missile attacks on five cities, with the country’s largest children’s hospital in Kyiv hit.
Alex De Minaur had too much for Arthur Fils, reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in his career. Barbora Krejcikova had too much for Danielle Collins and Jelena Ostapenko eased into the last eight with victory against Yulia Putintseva.

0-15, Rune unable to clear the net with the forehand across court as Djokovic scrambled. But he’ll come to the net here after a fine drop shot. Djokovic was able to chase it down, but that’s an easy one to put away.
A key hold and at least the Dane is on the board. 2-1.

Djokovic looking to consolidate his break here, he can almost see the finish line in what has been a ruthless display so far.
Silencing the Rune army of Danish fans has not been an easy task, but a swift run to 40-0 on serve is doing a fine job of it.
But a double fault from the Serbian offers Rune some hope. Hold on... The challenge is good! Repeat second serve... That’s excellent depth from Rune and it almost clips Djokovic’s toes on the baseline, 40-15. And another for the Dane... But that’s too good, Rune on the run and out of the court, the pass is gently cushioned back into the court with a fine volley. Game.

So, a two-set lead to Djokovic now, but the seven-time champ had to work much harder in the second frame.
The Serb moves to 0-30, in a promising start to the third set, then brings up a trio of set points with an impressive, sliding backhand! Rune meets it at the net, but he can’t nudge his return over the tape. 0-40.
Djokovic slices a backhand approach shot long. 15-40.
But there’s the instant break! Rune is forced to stoop for a backhand volley, and he can’t angle it up and over!

15-0 as Djokovic wins a fun point that concludes at the net, the Serb nudging a forehand volley beyond a stranded Rune.
Now some brutal hitting from Djokovic, who calls on the crowd to give him a bit of noise after he finally puts away Rune. 30-0.
Double-fault! 30-15. And now an uncharacteristic unforced error from Djokovic, as he pummels a forehand well long. 30-30.
The crowd ROARS and breaks into another chant for Rune as he wins a blistering rally, with Djokovic eventually putting a ground shot in the net! Break point to the Dane, 30-40.
Djokovic saves the break point with a clinical one-two punch. Deuce.
Great depth from Djokovic on a pair of backhands, each one pistoned into a different half of the court, and the latter creating a plume of chalk. That’s a winner – advantage Djokovic.
And there’s the hold, and the set! Djokovic looks to the crowd again!

Djokovic moves into a 0-40 lead, before shoveling a backhand return of serve narrowly long.
That’s his first set point of three gone. And Rune saves the second, too! 40-30.
Djokovic puts a drop shot in the net! The third set point goes begging! There are some chants of “Ruuune” around the court!
But Nole earns another set point, as he gets to the net and Rune’s gentle pass floats wide.
OUCH! Djokovic moves to the net again, and he’s forced into a slide and a splits as he misses a backhand volley! Deuce. He seems to be moving okay, thankfully...
He then brings up another set point, but he clips the top of the net post and his backhand is diverted out! Deuce again.
Rune slides to the net but comes up short on a backhand, but he saves a FIFTH set point with a fine, inside-out forehand winner! DEUCE AGAIN.
Now Djokovic can only applaud a backhand winner into the corner, as Rune gains advantage!
ACE down the T, those “Ruuuune” chants grow in volume! He’s saved five set points to hold serve!

Djokovic then comfortably moves to 40-0 as Rune fails to find a sufficient return again, and again.
Rune gets on the board in this game, however, as Djokovic attempts a forehand down the line but strikes the net post. 40-15.
Now it’s Rune who errs, after a deep backhand from Djokovic.

Rune with some solid hitting from the baseline, and Djokovic finds the net. 15-0.
Djokovic is then forced into an awkward, retreating backhand overhead, which he plops onto the inside tramline! And Rune hits long! A strange rally. 15-15.
Ace for 30-15, then a fist pump from Rune as Djokovic’s next return meets the net. 40-15.
Another big serve from the 21-year-old, but his follow-up forehand is in the net. 40-30.
And deuce! Rune takes a risk on a drop shot, and it comes up short. Will he regret that?
He might just... Break point to Djokovic on advantage, as Rune puts a backhand beyond the baseline.
Rune saves break point with some fine serving, but he gives up another with a backhand in the net!
And Djokovic takes the second break point!
