From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Wales thrashed Ireland 25-7 to win the Six Nations Grand Slam.

Hadleigh Parkes' try inside just 70 seconds set the tone before fly-half Gareth Anscombe took over from the tee to add a further 20 points as the hosts hit the front and never looked back.

Ireland scored with the final play of the game to avoid being left scoreless but it was a day to forget for them in Cardiff.

40 mins: England have a penalty for a tackle off the ball, and this time Farrell consults the troops and goes for the corner. Can England bag their sixth try of the half before the break?

40 mins: Daly get trapped in possession and Scotland have the penalty, but Russell is guilty of missing touch and England get another chance to attack. They do just that as May breaks away, but his offload to Kruis is spilt and Scotland kick to touch to end the half.

England 31-7 Scotland

Half-time: Well that was quite the brutal half from England! Five tries, 31 points and their fourth try-scoring bonus point of the championship. Jack Nowell has been brilliant, Henry Slade just as good and if it wasn;t for that late charge down, it could've been the perfect half for the hosts.

In honesty, it could've been a lot worse for Scotland.

Half-time: The players are back out and we're ready to get going once again!

41 mins: Scotland kick-off and we're back underway!

Jack de Menezes16 March 2019 18:01

43 mins: Scotland get to Farrell again, and it produces another loss of possession. This time Scotland kick the counter ball deep, and Daly responds by finding touch. It's a bright start for England though as they attempt to pick up where they left off.

Jack de Menezes16 March 2019 18:05

45 mins: Another error from England as this time Daly's long kick rolls all the way to the deadball line, rolling over it to bring us back into the England half for a scrum.

47 mins: TRY FOR SCOTLAND!

Jack de Menezes16 March 2019 18:09

47 mins: That's more like the Scotland we expected to see! They produce their best attacking rugby of the match so far and it produces five points. Johnson makes the break on the inside shoulder of Russell, and he in turn passes to Price who gives it to Maitland. The ball is recycled yards from the line, and Price goes left to Skinner, who in turn quickly passes to Darcy Graham and the wing rolls over to score! 31-12
