Eddie Jones has taken a gamble ahead of the match by handing Brad Shields his first start for England, having dropped Chris Robshaw from the matchday squad in the process, while he has also elected to bring Joe Launchbury straight back into the starting line-up following his recovery from a calf injury. Danny Cipriani also features, although the Gloucester-bound fly-half will have to wait for his international return as he named among the replacements.
South Africa meanwhile have made two changes in the hope of clinching yet another series victory over England. Pieter-Steph du Toit starts at flanker in place of Jean-Luc du Preez and Frans Malherbe returns at tighthead prop, with Wilco Louw dropping out of the squad. The match will also be a special occasion for loosehead prop Tendai Mtawarawira as he will win his 100th cap for the Springboks.

England: Elliot Daly; Jonny May, Henry Slade, Owen Farrell, Mike Brown; George Ford, Ben Youngs; Joe Marler, Jamie George, Kyle Sinckler; Maro Itoje, Joe Launchbury; Brad Shields, Tom Curry, Billy Vunipola.
Replacements: Luke Cowan-Dickie, Joe Marler, Harry Williams, Mark Wilson, Nathan Hughes, Ben Spencer, Danny Cipriani, Denny Solomona.
13 mins: It's two in three minutes for England and once again Mike Brown is pivotal to the score. Ford pops the ball up and Brown has to juggle it, and with Am right on him he decides wisely to bat it back to Daly, who feeds Jonny May in space. He has three men in front of him, but gasses past Kolisi and Dyanyi and steps inside Nkosi to score a fantastic try. Farrell can't convert the try, with the lead 0-12.
17 mins: An impressive rolling maul from the Springboks forces Itoje and Billy Vunipola to collapse it before it threatens the line, and they get a penalty for their reward that Pollard kicks to the corner. From the lineout, another penalty is awarded against Itoje for charging through offside - that really was a silly one.
18 mins: This time England get their defence right and George latches onto Nkosi, trapping the ball and winning the scrum put-in.
20 mins: It's role reversal as Poite penalises England in the scrum, and it all kicks off! Players from both sides rush in and Farrell has De Klerk by the scruff of the neck. Poite has a word with both captains - and replays show that De Klerk started it all by trying (and failing) to get the ball off Billy Vunipola. Not a wise move, Faf. South Africa still have the penalty though.
22 mins: Shields gets absolutely nailed off the ball by Mostert that Poite fails to see, but as that's going on De Klerk throws the ball straight into touch to waste the chance.
24 mins: Beast breaks! He breaks through the line...TRY FOR SOUTH AFRICA!
24 mins: Beast takes the assist on that one, as Mtarawira burst through the ruck to make up a precious 20 metres. De Klerk brought it right, and a lovely bit of footwork from Duane Vermeulen saw off Ford and Billy Vunipola and he had another speed ans strength to get over the line to score. Pollard converts and South Africa cut the lead. 7-12
28 mins: Le Roux hits Daly just as he kicks, and that puts the full-back - who appears to be playing on the wing - off enough for the ball to go straight to De Klerk. He returns fire and finds touch on the 22, and England cough up another penalty when Shields and Vunipola are caught offside in the lineout. Pollard will kick for goal.
29 mins: Pollard kicks the penalty and cuts the lead further. 10-12
30 mins: The handbags are back. Slade is hit after the whistle by Vermeulen and Itoje comes charging to his defence. He gets a big shove for his efforts, and Poite has to have another word to calm it all down. There's a TMO check too, as Itoje looks to have had a little kick out at De Klerk as he kicked the ball away. Mako Vunipola also looks to have slapped Snyman in the face while he was on the ground, and these are simply unacceptable errors from England - more petulant than anything. Poite penalises Vunipola and gives him a telling off, and both Kolisi and Farrell are told to sort out their teams.
