Two tries from England centurion Ben Youngs helped his side secure the bonus point they desperately needed, with Jamie George also scoring on his 50 cap for his country. Tom Curry’s try in the second half secured the crucial bonus point, with Henry Slade adding a fifth for good measure.
It means that England have one hand on the trophy, but will have to wait for the result in the final game of the championship to know if they have clinched the title for the first time since 2017, as if Ireland beat France by six points - so long as they score a try - or by seven points, they will beat England to top spot, while a bonus-point win would also be enough for the Irish.

Will Wales look to target Steele? We won’t know as Scotland win a penalty against the head and the front row love that one. Hogg kicks to touch well inside the Welsh half, as Lloyd Williams replaces Davies at scrum-half.
68 mins: Wales 10-11 Scotland
Scotland attack and Ritchie makes a break out wide, though Patchell does well to stop him. Scotland come left but Hastings is put under pressure and he throws a pass that is intercepted by Liam Williams, who hacks downfield. Duhan van der Merwe is back to field the kick and and sends it back, but from his own kick Liam Williams again takes a supreme catch and gets Wales on the attack. They have men on the overlap … and Halfpenny knocks on. Oh that was a chance.
There’s bad news for Scotland though as that shoulder injury has claimed Hastings, with the replacement fly-half off the pitch already. Scott Steele comes on for his first cap, but how will Scotland shape up here? It looks like Hogg will play 10, Kinghorn will move to full-back and Steele will slot in on the wing, while Elias and Faletau depart for Sam Parry and Aaron Wainwright.

One thing we forgot during lockdown? Leigh Halfpenny doesn’t miss penalties. The full-back makes no mistake and we’re back to a one-point game!
65 mins: Wales 7-11 Scotland
McInally then concedes a silly penalty for making contact with the nine, and from the resulting lineout Scotland concede another very quickly to give Wales a shot at goal. Halfpenny will line it up.
61 mins: Wales 7-11 Scotland
It pays off and then some! Gray safely takes the ball and Scotland are quickly into a very good maul, with the backs flooding in to join. Stuart McInally is at the base, and he doesn’t have to do a thing as the maul powers over from 10m out. Hastings struggles with the ball on the tee, and asa. result the conversion is surprisingly missed, but Scotland have the lead!
59 mins: Wales 7-6 Scotland
Hastings has another run before price kicks deep, which Patchell fields to Halfpenny and he clears. The full-back misses touch though and Hogg counters, and although the ball is eventually ripped by Watkin, it’s ripped forward and Scotland half the scrum put-in. How will Dillon Lewis set up here? He looses his feet and that’s a penalty for Scotland! It’s well within kicking range, but Hogg sends it to the corner. That’s a big call, will it pay off?
57 mins: Wales 7-6 Scotland
Hastings make a half-break as he wriggles through the defence, but Wyn Jones (the prop) does supremely well rip the ball and turn it over. The clearing kick is touched though and causes a bit of chaos in mid-field, and Scotland end up with the penalty. This time Price taps quick and they’re off!
56 mins: Wales 7-6 Scotland
Wales really are struggling to get anything going, as Adams tries to chip but sees it blocked by Price and then gets trapped holding on as Ritchie gets over the ball. Changes now for Wales as Cory Hill and Dillon Lewis come on, and they’re first act will be to defend a lineout outside their own 22.
53 mins: Wales 7-6 Scotland
Wales make good progress to the 5m, but after Francis picks and goes Rowlands goes off his feet and seals off the ruck, conceding the penalty that lets Scotland off the hook. Brown will not be able to continue, while Fagerson also departs as Oli Kebble and Simon Berghan come on. From the lineout, Scotland go for the drive, but after Price dallies too long after being told to use it they concede possession back to Wales.
