Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Result: 4.45 Kempton
1. Guardino 3-1 Fav
2. Unanswered Prayers 12-1
3. Stanley Pincombe 22-1
8 ran.
Not many horses by Authorized start off in bumpers but Guardino ran well at Carlisle. However, Tamgho Borget makes more appeal and is readily preferred after winning his point in Ireland.
One more to come at Kempton: the bumper at 4.45. Favourites at 4.7 are Guardino and Tamgho Borget.
Result: 4.10 Kempton
1. My Way 4-1
2. Awake At Midnight 18-1
3. Captain Blackpearl 11-2
10 ran.
A brilliant front-running effort here from Paul Nicholls’ horse, who responded well in the blinkers and was superb at his fences.
Cape plans
Emmet Mullins tells me Cape Gentleman is unlikely to go to Cheltenham.
George’s plan comes together
Tom George told Racing TV: "I am delighted with him. The owners have let me creep along over inadequate trips. We thought we'd leave him until today and it's worked out."
The stamina of Clondaw Castle was unproven there but he relished it in a strongly-run race. More prominent throughout was Erick Le Rouge, who ran on strongly despite being headed.
Result: 3.35 Kempton
1. Clondaw Castle 17-2
2. Erick Le Rouge 22-1
3. Mister Malarky 33-1
4. Romain De Senam 16-1
17 run.
