Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

...he's still got Let's Dance to coming at 4.50. Rich Richie's 'best chance of the week' apparently!

Jack Austin16 March 2017 15:39

Let's try and catch our breath...

Next up is the Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Handicap Chase. Here's the betting:

9/2 Diamond King, 13-2 Starchitect, 15-2 Thomas Crapper, 12-1 Bouvreuil & Sizing Codelco, 12-1 Baron Alco 14-1 Bar.

Jack Austin16 March 2017 16:00

Delay at the start here as a horse has bolted, think it's Henryville.

Jack Austin16 March 2017 16:09

We're all set now...

Off we go in the Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Handicap Chase.

Jack Austin16 March 2017 16:11

Jostling start as 5 in a line take the first with Village Vic taking them up.

This is a decent gallop and the field is well strung out.

Jack Austin16 March 2017 16:12

Drama is favourite Diamond King makes a serious error but Davy Russell stays on board. Worrying stuff there.

Germany Calling now falls, and hampers Diamond King very badly. he won't win from there.

Jack Austin16 March 2017 16:14

This is a proper test of jumping and it's finding a few of them out. Thomas Crapper going very well in third.

Jack Austin16 March 2017 16:15

The pace quickens with Road to Respect is over 2 out miles ahead. He clears the last and has won this by 5 or so lengths!
