From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

No fewer than five races have been scheduled for Thursday on top of two additional qualifying sessions as organisers attempt to squeeze in every race this week following the lengthy rain delays. After losing Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday to rain, action looks set to resume on Thursday with a bumper day of racing, ahead of Friday’s blue-riband Senior TT.
The action kicked off with superbike and superstock qualifying before Peter Hickman took victory in the two-lap supersport race two. The Birchall brothers, Ben and Tom, took their seventh Sidecar TT win with victory in race two, their 10th overall. When racing went back to the solos, there was still no stopping Hickman as he sealed a week hat-trick with superstock victory. Racing continues this evening with the two-lap lightweight race and one-lap TT Zero, with the day rounded out with a one-lap Senior qualifying. Follow the live action below.

RL360 Superstock race
Lap 2: Hickman's lead is out to 18 seconds at Glen Helen, but the big news is that David Johnson is into third ahead of Dunlop by just 0.784s! That's going to be one hell of a battle over the mountain, with Dunlop 30 seconds up the road from the Honda Racing rider.
RL360 Superstock race
Lap 2: Harrison and Cummins are on identical third lap times, which suggests this is not enough from the Kawasaki rider to get back into this. Hickman stretches the lead a little at Ballaugh to 19.849s, and Johnson maintains third by just 0.114s ahead of Dunlop!
RL360 Superstock race

RL360 Superstock race
Lap 2: Into Ramsey for the final time and the gap is more than 20 seconds, with Hickman 22.183s clear and in front of Dunlop on the road. He'll have to pass Hillier on the Mountain, but this one looks in the bag.
