From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

No fewer than five races have been scheduled for Thursday on top of two additional qualifying sessions as organisers attempt to squeeze in every race this week following the lengthy rain delays. After losing Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday to rain, action looks set to resume on Thursday with a bumper day of racing, ahead of Friday’s blue-riband Senior TT.
The action kicked off with superbike and superstock qualifying before Peter Hickman took victory in the two-lap supersport race two. The Birchall brothers, Ben and Tom, took their seventh Sidecar TT win with victory in race two, their 10th overall. When racing went back to the solos, there was still no stopping Hickman as he sealed a week hat-trick with superstock victory. Racing continues this evening with the two-lap lightweight race and one-lap TT Zero, with the day rounded out with a one-lap Senior qualifying. Follow the live action below.
What time does it start?

RL360 Superstock race
Lap 2: Hickman wins it by 26.045s with a 131.38mph lap, having shut it off early knowing he had the win. But who's in third?
RL360 Superstock race
Lap 2: It's David Johnson! He beats Michael Dunlop by 0.208s to take his first podium at the TT!
Hickman:
"I don't know what it is...Davo's having a good time! It's an awesome feeling.
"I don't know what it is about the superstock but over th elast few year's I've been so much stronger than everyone else. BMW build a great SS1000 and I don't know what it is, something just clicks and off I go. Even on the second lap, I wasn't cruising but I didn't really have my head down.
"Even at the North West, we got the new bike and it was P1 and we won the race. To get it this good out the box is amazing.
"It's ace to ride around in the sunshine and not to actually have to bite down and go for it, to have a buffer those last two laps was good."
Harrison:
"I've struggled on this the most on everything I've riddem, so to get second I'm over the moon with that.
"We had the best pit stop out of everybody which I think sorted us out, I came in with Conor and left before, so to beat the Padgetts crew is great by the guys.
"I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I hope the rain stays away and we can get a goo drace under our belts."
Johnson:
"Unreal. My guys have been unreal. It's basically a hand-picked crew by me and everyone that I wanted in my corner. We worked our way through it and now we're here. I didn't know if we put enough fuel in and looked at him and though 'is that enough?!', but it didn't blip until the line.
"That last bit is short-circuity and I'm a short-circuit guy, and one dude in the crowd said P3 so I did a big burnout and came in here.
"To do it for real is so frickin cool, and to all the Aussie's supporting me thanks, we'll have another one of these later on."
It's fair to say Davo Johnson is one happy bunny!
