After misadventures against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, England ran aground when chasing for the third time in the tournament, dismissed for an error-strewn 221.
With India and New Zealand still to play, there is now minimal leeway if the world's number one side are to reach the semi-finals of their own competition.

This has been an excellent spell from Stokes, and he rather deserved that wicket. He's certainly cranking things up pace-wise.
Ben Burrows: 90mph, full, straight, a bit of nip and far too good for Usman Khawaja. Ben Stokes makes sure Jos Buttler's miss doesn't prove too costly. That may well prove a blessing in disguise for Australia, however. Steve Smith on his way in and the boo boys are out. The crowd are back into it and England need them.

England clearly sense an opportunity here to capitalise on Finch in the nervous nineties. They are protecting the square boundaries and keeping men up down the ground to try and force the Australia captain to play expansively against Archer's pace and variations.
A useful mix of those, and just the three from the returning Archer's first over back.

Another quiet over as Finch continue to tick towards his hundred.
The players take some fluids on board at the 35 over mark. With Maxwell, Stoinis and Carey to come, it could be a fun last 15 overs against the pace of Wood and Archer.
Right. Jofra's back at his mark to amble in again. This might be his last for the moment to save him for the death.

That's what extra pace can do for you! Short, sharp, and too quick for Finch leaning back and looking to pull this one high into the stands at backward square.
Off the top edge it flies into the very safe hands of Chris Woakes jogging in from the fine leg fence, 20 yards or so from the boundary in the end and taking it comfortably at hip height. A loose shot after reaching the landmark and Finch is gone.

A stomp up the steps from Finch. He's really disappointed despite reaching another 100.
Glenn Maxwell to the crease. He's had a few swashbuckling cameos, but Australia could do with something bigger to propel them to something more imposing.

Steve Smith turns Archer's next ball round the corner for four, before Archer greets Maxwell with a brute of a bouncer, spitting like a horned lizard up into the top glove as Maxwell battles to keep it from rattling the grille.
Just short of point.
