England got the tournament off to a flying start on Thursday – literally in the case of Ben Stokes’ acrobatic catch – as the hosts defeated South Africa, butFriday's encounter failed to live up to its billing as Pakistan slumped to a dismal 11th straight ODI defeat..
Andre Russell, Jason Holder and Oshane Thomas ripped through the Pakistan batting order, with Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam top-scoring with just 22 runs each as they posted 105 all-out, before Chris Gayle's half-century led the West Indies to an easy victory after losing only three wickets in 13.4 overs. It's a first ever World Cup scalp for Oshane Thomas, who takes Babar with some impressive help from the athletic Shai Hope, Babar made 22.
Hafeez with a fine chop to the ropes on the back foot, before clipping another four to the leg side.
The Windies are flying here though,and despite a promising start from Hafeez, Pakistan are in big trouble.

Thomas back in and delivering some fierce stuff. Upper 80s in terms of mph, Pakistan aren't able to utilise that speed just yet.
Some deep discussion in the middle as Pakistan look to build their way back into this.

Holder gets Sharfaraz to tickle one behind and after the help of Ultra Edge, Pakistan are in all sorts of bother.
Imad is in the middle but doesn't last long, Holder forces him to glove one back, with Gayle grasping it well.
Thomas then delivers a menacing delivery, angling in to deceive Shadab, who goes for 0.

Holder with a short one that Hassan can't control, it's ballooned up for Cottrell to gather to trigger howls of delight.

Thomas with a bouncer, and Hafeez cannot yank his bat out of the way. Cottrell dashes in to gather and it's nearly over for Pakistan.
