From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Championship Millwall are through to the FA Cup quarter-finals after beating League One strugglers AFC Wimbledon 1-0.

The Lions came close to adding to the 1-0 advantage given to them by Wallace's early goal on a number of occasions in the second half but failed to beat Dons goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for a second time.

Millwall join Watford and Brighton in Monday night's quarter-final draw.

Wimbledon 0-1 Millwall

69 minutes

Wimbledon, it seems, are beginning to run out of ideas. They're putting cross after cross into the box and firing off shots from distance, but none of it is troubling Archer in the Millwall goal. One goal may well be enough to win this for Milwall.

Wimbledon 0-1 Millwall

70 minutes

The hosts think they've got a penalty, as Barcham is played in behind by Folivi and taken out in the box. The flag is up for offside, though, and Millwall get away with it.

Wimbledon 0-1 Millwall

74 minutes

Williams hits a shot from 30 yards out and draws a save from Ramsdale, who has done well to stay alert in this second half given most of the game has been played at the other end of the pitch.

Wimbledon 0-1 Millwall

77 minutes

Millwall have had chances to secure the victory on the break, and another is squandered as Gregory finds himself clear in the box. Barcham gets back and makes an excellent tackle to take the ball away from the striker.

Wimbledon 0-1 Millwall

80 minutes

Another big chance for Millwall as Gregory picks out Leonard in the centre of the box. There's not enough power on his shot to beat Ramsdale, who holds the ball well. Moments later, Gregory sends a header wide. The visitors are coming on strong late in the game.

Wimbledon 0-1 Millwall

83 minutes

Millwall are forced into some defending as Pinnock launches in a couple of long throws. Wimbledon are throwing everything at this now, but they've tired as the half has progressed.
