The Lions came close to adding to the 1-0 advantage given to them by Wallace's early goal on a number of occasions in the second half but failed to beat Dons goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for a second time.
Millwall join Watford and Brighton in Monday night's quarter-final draw.

Another big chance for Millwall as Gregory picks out Leonard in the centre of the box. There's not enough power on his shot to beat Ramsdale, who holds the ball well. Moments later, Gregory sends a header wide. The visitors are coming on strong late in the game.
