The Lions came close to adding to the 1-0 advantage given to them by Wallace's early goal on a number of occasions in the second half but failed to beat Dons goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for a second time.
Millwall join Watford and Brighton in Monday night's quarter-final draw.

That didn't take long. Wimbledon only half clear a corner and Millwall work the ball back to the edge of the box. A cross is played to the back post and Murray Wallace is there to plant his header past Ramsdale and into the top corner. The visitors lead.

Wimbledon had started well, so that goal will be a real blow. Millwall can now dictate the tempo of the game and look to hit the home side on the break.

Gregory finds space on the left and picks out O'Brien with a cross. The latter's header is mistimed, but it allows Millwall to continue the move. Ferguson eventually puts in another cross but this time it's straight into the hands of Ramsdale.

Jed Wallace goes for goal with a free kick from a tight angle. It's well over the bar and Ramsdale is untroubled.

A Wimbledon free kick causes chaos in the Millwall box. The ball is flicked on into the path of Folivi, who is denied by Archer from close range. But the flag is up for offside, so it wouldn't have counted anyway.

Wallace chips a delicate ball into the path of O'Brien, who looks to latch onto it. He's offside, though, and Wimbledon restart play with a set piece. It's been a game of little quality so far, but the League One side are by no means out of it yet.

A chance for Folivi, who collects the ball from a throw in and is allowed to drive into the Millwall box unchallenged. His shot, though, is dragged way wide of the far post and the visitors get away with some poor defending.

Millwall are beginning to look unsettled and the home supporters are sensing their nervousness. Sibbick's attempted cross from the right is deflected out for a corner, which Archer punches clear. But the Championship side are under pressure here.

Murray Wallace is on the end of another corner at the back post but his header flies over the bar. The defender has been Millwall's most threatening player so far.
