Manchester City are reigning champions after a dominant 2020/21 season and Pep Guardiola's side are favourites to win it again boasting as they do one of the best squads in Europe.

European champions Chelsea have proven they have what it takes to dethrone City, however, having done it in last season's Champions League final and will be hoping to add a domestic title to the one won in Porto.

Liverpool were winners back in 2020 ending a 30-year wait for league glory and Jurgen Klopp is sure to have them back challenging again at the sharp end this season too while Manchester United will be looking to be back in the title picture with Cristiano Ronaldo returning to his former club in the summer.

It's not all about the action at the top though with Norwich, Watford and Brentford promoted to the top tier for 2020/21 and hoping to hold their own against the best English football has to offer and avoid the drop.

We will bring you all the action and updates from today's game in the live blog below:

Play still hasn't resumed as Westwood is still being treated on the pitch. He's going to have to be carried off on a stretcher. The Burnley man waved for attention as soon as he landed, so he must have known he'd been injured quite badly.

Looking at a replay of the incident, Westwood landed awkwardly as he went in for a loose ball and collided with Vlasic. It looks like he's fractured something of some sort. The Burnley players give Vlasic a sympathetic pat. The Croatian did nothing wrong at all.

Oof. Westwood needs some immediate medical attention after an accidental clash with Vlasic. Medics rush onto the pitch while Vlasic is consoled by his teammates. There's no way Westwood will be able to carry on. This looks very serious indeed.

Burnley have been second-best, but they're still threatening occasionally. Cornet centres the ball for the arriving Weghorst, but it's too close to Fabianski who smothers it first.

Burnley survive West Ham's latest corner. That was a fantastic save by Pope, by the way. The Burnley goalkeeper would have only seen Bowen's curling effort at the last minute with all the bodies right in front of him.
